Old style daily 30 november

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well

Morning Halight, NPM & All to follow
We have snow here nownot sure how bad it is yet and keep an eye on the school closures.
I will be in the office all day so won't affect me too much unless the children are at home. Loads of office work still to catch up on. Will also get some washing and ironing done at some point.
Ended up having soup for dinner last night so will be having sausages and mash tonight.
Really, really need to go into my Xmas drawer and see whats in there, aim to get the inlaws done, dusted and wrapped in the next 2 days.
Hope everyone keeps warm and safe today.x0 -
Good morning all. I normaly just lurk but thought I would post today.
We have woken up to snow this morning but with two young poorly children that's probably not great news.
I have some ebay packages to post today so will see if DH will post them for me when he takes my car to the garage later.
Have a dinner to get cooked this morning, bread to get out of BM, and flying to do as I am determined to start the new year with a clean house and an empty ironing basket.
Need to get Christmas cards written today and list some more on ebay as I am slowing decluttering the house but this only seems to be making my ebay pile bigger as I can't keep up!
Man is coming to finish our built in wardrobes in our bedroom today so will finally be able to unpack clothes from suitcases (after 2 1/2 months) they were only meant to be in there 3 weeks!0 -
Snow Day 6:snow_grin
Just waiting to see if the schools will re-open today as both DS's schools were shut yesterday, only a light dusting overnight but that was on top of the good 6"+ from the day/ night before.
If we're at home it'll be storecupboard for dinner and tea- well it will be anyway and homemade soup to take to work if I make it - only the main roads are clear.
Looks like the snows on the move again so take care everyone.0 -
We got snow too, only a few centimeters but its made DD happy! She's full of cold at the mo so going to keep her off school. OS today will be baking, as having the oven on will help warm the house, and I need to stock up on long life milk, and after cleaning will be making Xmas cards. Might get round to doing a stock take of my food cupboards as well.
Stay safe and warm everyone

Morning all
We have a light dusting of snow here, the main roads are clear, hubby's been dropped at the station, breakfast's been eaten, packup's made & fish fed.
Jerk chicken for tea, it will marinade in the fridge til I get home & will be served with rice & veg.
It was so cold at work yesterday, my room didn't reach min temperature til 2ish just in time for me to leave at 3:30.
Another scarf finished yesterday, I've made £60 so far, some people are now asking for more, but it's not worth it for me to order wool online as the postage wipes out my profit.
Keep safe & warm everyone.
Hugs Hester

Hello Everybody
OH's alarm woke me up today-usually I can snooze through it. Dolly snuggled on our bed again last night and is now sitting in the bedroom window watching the garden. We have had a light sprinkle of snow today. The call of the wild loses it's appeal at 7.00 am on a snowy day.
Work again for me today-we are madly trying to get our NVQ childcare learners to complete ther qualification atm. New group starts next week eek! And the heating is on the blink! We were all freezing yesterday and discovered you can't think when you are cold.....
We enjoyed the cottage pie made from the rest of the joint last night-need a more efficient mincer I think.
Chilli for tea tonight-too much beef but got carried away with 3 for £10 in Mr sand freezer is full. oops!
Take care everyone and keep warm.

Dinner tonight will be a roast chicken, just the thing to warm the others up when they get in from work / school.
Made my xmas cards yesterday so will sit and write those later on, need to hoover through upstairs and give the bathroom a good clean.
Have good days all xx0 -

yes Halight! about the same amount as you. The road outside my house is perfectly clear(its a B road) and DH has gone to work on his milkround.
Waiting to hear if my shopping trip is still on - fingers crossed it is as I've been looking forward to it.
MOT later for my little car - DH taking it.(fingers crossed pleased)
Nothing much to report on the OS front. WM is on and washing will go on the airer. Shall have a tidy up after breakfast. Something from the freezer for tea.
