    Morning all!

Very cold here, but the snow is all melting from the roads now, was far too icy and snowy for my liking earlier!

Have made a vast pot of veg soup, using up lots of ys veg that I'd frozen, need the freezer space for the turkey! Will have a look at the value veg in mr s, great for throwing into food to bulk it out, will be ideal for cottage pie, thanks pp!

Need to load dw, wm and bm, and poss hoover round! So best het a wiggle on before I head off to work!

Happy birthday squiggly! Hugs to all who need them xxx

  • No school run as son-in-law took them and craft is cancelled this afternoon because of the snow so I am tucked up warm and cosy indoors and shan't stick my noce outside for awhile yet.Far too cold and icy. There is only about 2 inches or so at the moment but more is forecast.DGS Danny popped in for half an hour for a warm up and a cuppa this morning.Trains are all over the place and I only live five minutes from the station. He said there were about 400 cross commuters on the platform so he thought ,very wisely ,I'll get a warm up at granny's .He eventually went off about 9.30 and apparently has just got to Kings Cross on his way to Hatfield.Hopefully he will be able to get back tonight again. Its still snowing here and looks very pretty from my windows .
Right I'm off to make a nice big cuppa and a couple of oatmeal cookies for elevenses.then I shall spend the day wrapping up some Christmas presents.
keep warm as you can everyone

Oh god, there's only an inch or two of snow but I'm freaking out! I walked up and down my alley to see if my shoes were okay on the snow and they were fine, slightly slippy on the slush when I ran my foot along it but basically fine yet I still had a little panic attack and my heart is going crazy! I really need to get a grip and get into uni now, if the snow and buses are worse at 6/7pm when I leave I think I'll stay in the library overnight working. I've got a hand warmer in my bag incase I walk home.
If there was a smiley than ran round in a crazy circle I would use it right now :o

  • Hello!

Well, our village isn't quite cut off, but there are hardly any cars going through and the ones that are trying to get up over the hills aren't even making it 10% of the way up before they slip and slide and turn back. We've had about 7" over the last 2 days, and when I walked the doggo last night around midnight it was snowing so heavily you couldn't see across the road . Although the rest of the house was lovely and warm, the bedroom was cold (by choice) so I wrapped the 'nesh' doggo (she's a Border Collie for heaven's sake!) in a fleece blanket on the bed; I woke up at 8 this morning to find her still there snoring her head off. When she woke up, it she looked at me as if to say 'why haven't we done this a long time ago?' then promptly fell asleep again :rotfl:

I also heard from the OH this morning; he's been watching flying fish alongside the ship he's on and when they left port they had either porpoises or dolphins jumping alongside them! I'm sooooo envious :o

Today will be very OS in that I'm not planning on venturing further than the post office to post some eBay parcels and will then spend the majority of the day reading, cross stitching and crocheting. I may also do some tidying later, but it's not too bad here at the moment.

Tea tonight is left over leek and garlic soup or spag bol from last night, with pancakes for pud.

Hope everyone stays safe and has a good day, and hugs to those that need them.

    T xx

A tiny smidgen of snow here in the beautiful South but I'm guessing that tonight's news headlines will be 'South suffers under blizzards' lol! Just walked to town and back to do two MS jobs then carried 8 pints of milk back. Didn't realise how heavy they would be. Need to write up four reports then off out later with OH to do a further MS, this time an eating one so no cooking for me tonight, yay! Got a washing machine repairer coming soon. If it can't be mended I think I might wait til New Year to get a new one. What with the launderette and the clothes horse in front of the fire, all I need is a Hilda Ogden style turban and I'll be right back to my roots!

*Shakes of the snow and pours a hot chocolate*

    Afternoon all

Not been around in a loonngg time but been lurking in the background.

Hope everyone is well and keeping warm in this mighty freeze. Fife is now known as the magical land of Narnia. We have about 2ft of snow and it's currently minus 4 Brrrrr!

It's times like these that I thank my lucky stars I followed this website and the 'Prep for Winter'/OS thread. Well in credit on the gas/elec, plenty food and supplies too. OH bought a 4x4 in Sept and people laughed at him. Guess who is laughing now!

Got the remoska on with mince from freezer which I am having with pasta before I head out to get nails done. Not exactly a necessary trip but it's my luxury.

On 'snow day' number 2 and it ain't looking like schools will be open here tomorrow but who knows.

anyone else snowed in? What are you doing to pass time? I have cleaned and reorganised just about every cupboard and drawer in house

    Afternoon all.

The Horrible White Stuff has hit Milton Keynes. I knew before we even looked outside, as I woke with a blinding headache. It's a good indicator. I always worry about Mr LW driving to work, too. It's 30 miles; and it's not so much him as the other numpties on the roads - I swear some people drive with their brains in neutral and their thumb up their bum!

While I remember to say it, JackieO congratulations to Katie and Tom.

NPM is it really only another week? Where's the time disappeared to?:o

Well, Mr LW was a wee bit too MSE, imho. I'll explain.... he sets the coffee filter up for me so that all I need do is press the button - only today, he put the water in but no coffee! Daft twonker!:rotfl:

I see from the meal plan spreadsheet that we're to have mushroom stroganoff tonight -Mr LW likes that.;)

Must get off me bum and do something useful.... Laters, all.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
