I have used plain flour to make bread before in my panny and it has been fine. It just didn't rise quite as much as the strong plain flour might. Bread made with sr flour should be ok I would have thought? Its a bit late now probably for making a loaf but it could definitely be used for pizza.Tess x

Nah, it's not the raising agents that make the bread rise higher, but the gluten content of the bread. Both SR and plain flour have a low gluten content so aren't really suitable for bread, it just won't rise enough and will be a bit heavy.0 -
I'd leave it to make the bread (which probably won't rise too well) and then use the bread to make something bread-based rather than use as a loaf (breadcrumbs, bread pudding or something like that)0

Thanks...I had no idea what I could do with it... and appreciate your answers...I took it out the breadmaker and it was put in the fridge whilst I contemplated...I took it out for a while this pm and it started rising outside the container;)so then I put it back in the fridge. I have decided to try pizza base ideas and if unsucessful with taste they will feed the wildlife...well away from garden though because of our chickens and ducks(even though they are foxproofed..trusting 100% is impossible). Thanks:T I was surprised to receive any answers. Dianne0

Love it! I also have a cat who enjoys manoeuvering herself into containers that are far smaller than she is. Although she's yet to climb into a loaf tin0

Was a great picture of Saber he is 3 now and maybe only 1 year in the photo... and a real teddy bear cat..never known a cat so gentle....his house mate Girlze is known as lots of different things...just one being Scarry Spice;)..
The Bread Mix I flattened it out and at the last second rolled it up and cut in 6 for rolls...made cuts in the top and brushed with milk cooked hot oven for 15-20mins...was tasty although a little on the heavy and crispy side...they all got eaten for lunch toasted with cheese and onion fillings.
