Ice on veg and in milk bottle

My veg keeps getting a build up of ice on it when I put it in the fridge. I bought some milk the other day and there is now Ice in the bottle. I defrosted the fridge a few weeks ago and the temperature is about 4-5C.
Come on you Irons

Well you could adjust the temperature? If there's ice crystals forming it has to be going below 0'C so either your thermostat isn't working or your thermometer is. But it basically sounds like it's running at too cold a temperature.

  • This used to happen all the time with my old fridge, whenever an item touched the back wall of the fridge it froze. Maybe your veg and milk are touching the back?

This happened to me once before...i must have knocked the temperature control without noticing...it re-froze some raw meat that had already been defrosted so i had to throw it away:(

Slightly OT but the milkmen in Devon actually had to put the milk in the fridges (which aren't ever turned on in winter) and switch them on, to stop them from freezing! It was warmer in the fridges than outside

Just adjust your fridge temp a little :)

Too late now, but there was no need to throw it away, refreezing it will NOT poison you, it may affect the texture / taste, but that is a MAY, not WILL

Would be fine in stew, pie etc

Hi, just a thought, are you using your salad drawer, I ask as to me its obvious that you would do.

I can't use my salad drawer at all as it freezes veg, (in all weathers) I have to keep everything in the fridge part IYSWIM
