Freezing Biscuit Crumbs?
Hi all :D I currently have lots of packets of digestive bicuits due to a promotion/competition. I will be using them to make cheesecakes etc but obviously don't want to make lots of cheesecakes in one go as they won't get eaten :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: If I smash up the biscuits in preparation and put them in sealed food…

How long do pasties keep for?
My husband is a lorry driver for a builders merchant, and so is out all day in all weathers. He eats like a horse, and takes a packed lunch to work with him which he has usually eaten by 10am  He normally takes sandwiches, but I was thinking of making pasties for him to take instead as they would be more filling,…

Hiya! I am wanting to make soup and baguettes for lunch today, and have just noticed that the baguettes are dated 05/08/09. I am not fussy at all regarding best before dates...generally just go off looks and smell, but seeing as the kids will be eating too, I just wanted to check I am not going to poison them lol They look…

How do you keep the bottoms on your trousers clean and dry in the wet?
Hello all, I'm just wondering how other people keep the bottom of their trousers clean esp when it's wet out? More specifically, I wear suits to work and have a fair walk to the station. For this, I wear flat (comfy) shoes then change into office heels when I get to work. The thing is, if I wear flats with trousers, they…

Last night guess what I bought off a man in the pub?
Popped into a couple of my locals last night before wending my weary way home and one had a sort of brick-a-brack stall outside in the courtyard. Standing amongst the junk was a rather old Kenwood A701 with balloon whisk and K beater attachment. They were raising money for an orphanage in rwanda. Solid chunk of metal it…

How do you know when.....?
I'm hoping you guys can help me here - I've got some leaks, carrots and celery in the fridge that I bought to make soup and hadn't got round to it. I usually end up binning the veg as I assume it'll be out of date - but it always niggles at the back of my mind that I'm not sure if I'd still be able to use it. So my burning…

I bought ginger + garlic powder today, is it any good?
Whenever you read a recipe it always suggests using fresh ginger or fresh garlic. I'm sort of feed up using fresh garlic and ginger, firstly because its labour intensive to peel and chop and secondly, a lot of it goes to waste in our house as I'm the only one who eats it. I have bought ginger + garlic paste in the past,…

milk freezing question
milk is soooo much cheaper in large volumes, but I live by myself and don't get through it before it goes off. would it be safe to buy, say, a 4pt bottle, decant it into four containers and freeze them, or would opening it potentially introduce bacteria etc that could cause it to go "off" whilst frozen, or very soon…
