Most of the recipes that I have read about dishes like Shepherds Pie casseroles etc say brown the onions and veg in a seperate pan is this really necessary?or can I cook everything from scratch in the Remoska.

Kittie is right, but I usually pre-cook everything in the Remoska because I have a habit of burning the onions if I do them on the hob. With the Moska you can go away and leave them for a while. If in a hurry I do them (onions and other veg) in the M/W which is much quicker. Doing them in the Remoska just seems easier - tho I hadn't thought about energy consumption.....oh dear !
