What temperature is it inside/outside your home?
I'm wondering at what temp people keep their homes, and what they do to keep it there. At the moment, it's 16.9C inside and 11.9C outside. The heating isn't turned on. We've been leaving the heating off for the most part as long as it's at least 16C indoors. Read somewhere that most people will acclimatise to 16C and it…

Machine Washing A Suit Jacket.. any tips?
Just wondering if anyone has any tips for washing a 'machine washable' suit jacket. It's black and red, 100% polyester, and the symbols tell me machine wash below 40*c, do not tumble dry (which is good as I don't have a tumble drier :D ), iron on reverse. This is the first job I've had to wear a suit for so I've never…

Cookie recipes please
I've been given an electric cookie maker for Christmas. As it effectively "pipes" shapes the cookie can't have bits in as it will block the nozzles. Would any of you kind people have any suitable recipes you can spare for smooth doughed biccies?

Cod - how long is it ok to eat?
Bought cod from fresh fish counter in Waitrose on Sunday, no best before date on it. Not sure whether it's still ok to use? I made a fish pie with it today to reheat tomorrow. Now wondering if I should just bin it. Any advice? Have googled, but can't find much.

I've got a load of Brocolli that was half price at the supermarket. I quite fancy making a cheese sauce to go with it. Do you reckon it would work as a cauliflower substitute?

remember...they're not leftovers, they're ingredients!
I have decided to keep a plastic box in the fridge with a lid to pop any bits of leftovers over the next couple of days. Using basic food hygiene principles, I intend to use the contents to make a soup. I think that there can be a lot of potential waste over the Christmas period so 'Britain fights back' with the plastic…
