Daily Thread 26th Dec 2007 BOXING DAY

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 26th Dec. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

MORNING EVERYONE.
I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas day and are looking forward to boxing day.

We had a strange but lovely day, dh was ill which sort of spoilt the day as hes normal so full of life and messing about with the kids all day, he tried his best but ended up sleeping on sofa most of day, or just sitting watching us mess about, and we all went to bed at 10pm which we never do on xmas day as he felt so ill and kids were worried about him, so they suggested a early bed in the hope he will feel better today.

But the kids still had a great time and were delighted with their presents, my dinner turned out fantastic and iv learnt not to pile it up as this puts the kids off, all clean plates and loads of food leftover so iv plated up enough to have enought xmas dinner later in week.

Today my step son is coming for the day, so i am making a big buffet for us all to pick at throughout the day, he has a few present here from us but he phoned yesterday to thank us for his main present (we paid half towards a psp for him) which im surprised his mum told him we had contributed so dh was pleased about that as we dont always get to speak to him on the day itself.

Only disasters yesterday were 2 broken/faulty presents:mad: , one board game and a cooking pc thing that just wont work but apart from that a fantastic day.

Hope you had a good birthday grannbroon and hug to everyone.
Catch you all later

My Christmas dinner went well, there were 5 of us, which was nice. I was given some music cd's, a fake Gucci handbag & purse, a washbag, diary & a mug. I have mors stuff to come on Friday when I see the rest of my kids.
Hope everyone got what they wanted.

    Morning all.

Well it's all over and done with. My DDs were happy and that's what counts, so a good day in all.

Need to sort out freezable food now so nothing is wasted, and have a bit of a tidy round but nothing strenuous. Then we're off visiting this afternoon.

Hope you enjoyed your birthday GB.

  • A less frequent Mr P reporting in. Up, dressed, and drinking lots and lots of cuppas ready for a day fending off the marauding hordes at the sales... Its another normal working dy for me once again.

Christmas day went well. No2 son son fed me fell and there were no arguments or broken toys, although, to be fair the little ones did spend their time playing with the bubble wrap and boxes rather than the contents.

I hope the rest of you have a great day and it all goes smoothly.

    Good morning,

We had a lovely day as dh was home (a lot of the time he is away for Christmas because of his job). We had bucks fizz and croissants first thing, followed by presents, our roast dinner at 3pm then drinks in a neighbours house while the children all played together from 5.30pm.

We're off to another friend's house this afternoon - her dad has made up a quiz for us all.

I hope you're all having a good christmas.
  • Morning all, as promised, I am spending more time posting than lurking. Enjoying a nice quiet cuppa before the boys get up. Its blissfully quiet here, let the boys stay up a little later than usual last night - 9pm and they are having a lie in which is excellent. Hope everyone has a lovely boxing day, unfortunately, i have to go into town and return the scalectrix that had a peice missing from it when we put it all together yesterday. One very disappointed daddy and two disappointed children - don't know which is worse lol. Hope you all have a great boxing day.

    Morning :hello:

We have £60 in Argos vouchers. I want a sewing machine so I'm hoping they have some in the sales :D

I went a bit mad with food on Christmas Eve, so I won't have to cook anything for a few days. I can't dust because every surface is covered with tinsel, holly, candles etc. It's not even worth vacuuming because we've left our presents in 4 piles in the lounge and what with the tree and my battery operated toys - don't be rude, they're actually singing and dancing snowmen and santas (I even have one that skates around on a skateboard lol) - there's not much carpet on view :D

We had an excellent day yesterday, it's not over yet though. I try to merge a few days together so it's like one long Christmas day :rotfl:
