    Good morning everyone,

susie - hope you will all be feeling better soon xxx - also dlbs OH xx

Well, we had a wonderful day, DS was first up at 6.58 (told them not to get up before 7!!) and they loved all their presents. We had our first treasure hunt where i gave them the laptop i won a few months ago, and they were thrilled. Then after lunch they had another treasure hunt (normally only the one, so this really was a huge surprise) where they got the Wii i had won - they both kept saying thank you for the best christmas they have ever had - i am so glad i enter these competitions!!!

The roast goose turned out beautifully, so did my roast potatoes, so dinner was lovely and there is loads left over, so our traditional boxing day lunch will be bubble and squeak, and i have 2 portions of goose in gravey, plus another 2 portions of goose that i have put in the freezer. Dinner tonight will be cold goose sandwiches!!

Today will be spent relaxing, with the children playing with all their various bits and bobs - i actually did get everything put away yesterday, and hoovered whilst the children were doing their teeth, so all is tidy here, although the kitchen still has christmas food all over the place, it will all be eaten (we dont do waste) but why do i buy so many crisps/nuts/biscuits for cheese!!!???

Hope anyone feeling poorly will soon be feeling better,
    Have a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

what a horrid time of year to be poorly. hope the sickie ones are feeling better soon.
my daughter made a recovery in time for the festivities.
we had a quiet day. Christmas dinner was tasty. poor hubby had his microwaved when he got in from work. he said it tasted lovely but it would have been so much nicer if he'd been able to eat with us. still, maybe next year. he's hoping to get away from work early today..so fingers crossed.
I got a lovely digital photo frame so later, after a bit of a tidy round, plan to set it up. the kids did very well both from santa (cough) and the family.
might have a nose round the online sales again. I was one of the M&S shoppers they are talking about on the news. got some £2 t shirts, socks for £1 etc..managed to find enough to reach the free delivery line too!

Kyle try ds1 with some ice cubes to keep him hydrated. It was advice from my friends doctor when her daughter was sick - the water from an ice cube goes down too slowly to make them sick again.

What an awful christmas for you, I hope you all start to feel better soon.

    GRANNYBROON happy birthday for yesterday!

Sorry to hear of so many people and children poorly yesterday. HUGS to you.

I really shouldn't get drunk when cooking dinner. I was ok until all our neighbours were outside (we live in a cul-de-sac), with a snow machine and riding quad bikes around. After several glasses of bucks fizz and mulled wine, got into a bit of a tizz with dinner. It was lovely though and I had a suprise visit from my dear Brother who had flown in from America at midnight, so there was seven of us for dinner. Had lots of compliments about the food especially the Xmas pud and mince pie, it really is worth all the effort.

Does anyone else have a child who is really badly behaved in company? Have tried everything but nothing seems to work! Will make this our project for New Year.

    Have a good day everyone

  • Morning all:santa2:

Kyle, sorry you're not well, hope you feel better later.

We had lovely Christmas Day, DS, his GF and our new granddaughter came round. LO was wearing a red babygro with 'Mummy's Christmas Pudding' on the front and looked so cute :rotfl:

They brought their Wii, and we were playing tennis, who needs a trip to the gym when you have a Wii :D

Hope everyone has a great Boxing Day

Jannyannie, we live in a cul-de-sac and it is nothing like that ! We have a couple of neighbours who are miserable s*ds and after a few rows about parking, we don't even speak :(
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

    Hi everyone!
Belated season's greetings. I thought now that we've got the Broadband connection I'd be over here loads but have spent most of the last 10 days in bed with flu. OH has been an absolute star and has worked his socks off as I've been about as much use as a cardboard welly. The only thing I am glad for is that I was very organised before hand so it's all run very smoothly.
Best bits were definitely watching others open their pressies I'd got them and the beautiful piece of roast lamb we had last night [we took the OS route and went to our local butcher rather than the supermarket]. We also broke with tradition on the pud front and enjoyed a jam suet pud.
I shall be having a quietish day today as am actually feeling somewhat better but I'm not going over to see my inlaws [OH has made them a pheasant casserole in the SC] as it's a 2 hour journey] and as they're elderly they really don't need me sharing this with them!
Have a great day peeps and I shall be back with a vengeance shortly.

PS For all those turkey left overs my book suggests left over pie which is basically turkey, stuffing, sausages and a dollop of cranberry sauce all stuffed into a pastry case!:D

    Morning all!

(((hugs))) to kyle - hope you feel better soon and that things improve for you ! xxxx

Off to work soon till 10pm tonight, dont really mind as its a nice atmosphere there at Christmas(residential home for adults with learning disabilities and visual impairments) some of them have gone home to their families but the ones left dont have anyone so we do our best to give them a good time.

DH and FIL will spend the afternoon watching the racing on TV so dont feel guilty about leaving them plus its double time!;)

Hope you all have a good time.
    Pressies I had were

    silky pjs
    fluffy dressing gown
    2 x perfume
    2 x scented candles
    £50
    top
    undies
    glass necklace
