Afternoon Guys!
Having a quiet afternoon here. Went back to bed this morning and slept for a couple of hours instead of watching film...I must need it ATM.
OH & DD have gone bowling and are going Blockbusters after as we have a free voucher film hire to use. The bowling would have been £18 for 2 games:eek:    but they got a deal as there were quite a few playing and paid £10 instead....still seems alot for 30mins...but Im just tight:D Think their all having a drink after and OH has taken mince pies, cake and sweets for the kids;)
Just eating some soft full fat cheese and crackerwheats..I love them and we're having an Indian later:o
The lounge looks lovely. I will post a pic once its all done as we need another coat. We need to buy a new suite next year, so will start saving as soon as final payment is made on the CC.
Managed to get DD a dress for a wedding we're attending in February and a coat for £20 from Debenhams and used the gift card mum gave me a couple of months ago. OH has picked up the phones from Argos we needed.
Im going to do a mealplan in a minute for the next 10 days as we are away on Saturday but will still be planning as we are taking all food bar fresh with us. Come and join in and plan to use your leftovers up!
Hugs

Hope everyone had a nice Christmas and is enjoying a lazy boxing day. :snow_grin
We had the 2 Mothers for Christmas dinner. we are lucky they both get on so well. They loved my homemade chrimbo pud. The beef dinner was fab (even though i couldn’t be mithered doing Yorkshire puds)
Need to cook a ham for tomorrow. (should be interesting as i’ve never cooked one before????)
We are having OH’s sister and tribe coming round tomorrow for a buffet tea. OH is working till 5pm so itll be up to me to do it all. Im actually looking forward to it, and i think if i take my time i should be able to manage, especially if i get cracking with it early.
TAPLADY~ hope you had a nice xmas.
KYLE~ hope the bug disappears from your house soon.
MRSMIX~ hope you are ok.
Welcome LILMISSCLUMSY ~ You will love it on here
well i suppose i had better go and investigate how to cook this ham.

Boots have pretty much sold out of their online stock already
. I only looked at it a couple of days ago and earmarked a few things as pressies for next year (thought I'ld better get this year over with first!). Just checking out the Lakeland sale.
We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Afternoon all, hope everyone had a great time and that the poorlies start to feel tons better soon. Well we didn't go to the sanctuary as we were still being messed arround at 10.30 on Christmas eve:mad: , Bit dissapointed as I am sure that there are places that would have been glad of an extra two pairs of CRB checked people wanting to help today. It seems there is rather a lot of "empire building" going on at the sanctuary which I will not get involved with. As ever it is the animals that will suffer-the dogs are only getting hte minimum toilet walks today-as if there lives wern't hard enough. Aw well we tried.
We went for our usual Christmas day drive to the Derbyshire peak district(we almost ended up in Chesterfield we waved dlb & CrazyChick:hello: :hello: :hello: ) we do this every year and its fab we arm ourselves with Costco mince pies:A :A , a flask of coffee, some cheesey tapes and off we go. This year it was a bit posher than normal as DH had to hire a cra as our 16year old mo-mo is poorly and as the school he is teaching at is totally inaccessable had to be done. It goes back tomorrowI had to get a couple of cds (got 5-a triple and a double for £2:j )so that the tradition was maintained. Went up and down some very interesting hills:eek:  and came across a very bored horse looking out over his gate so we stopped to wish him a very happy Christmas and have a little pat. We got lost. We ALWAYS get lost:rotfl: then back home for pressies. I got a clinique cleansing bar and moisturiser that I had been desperate for some concealer, some more No7 cream, the bag wiht stuff in it and a gem magic. I
also got a huge ammount of screwdrivers in a pack(wanted them very pleased)
Kyle ((((((((HUGS))))))))) Hope you and the Lo'sfeel better soon.
GrannyBroon(((((HUGS))))) Also a belated HAPPY BITRTHDAY TO YOU:bdaycake: :bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Tired Mum enjoy your break.
HUGS to all
Pen-Pin!! gald they let you out, you take cear hun.
By the way dreamt about CatOwen last night -you had won a real London Bus(one with the open bit on the back) and a real CAMEL??????????
Anyway, hope everyone has a lovelyevening. Take care and a safe journey to those of our old style"family" that are travelling.See you later/tomorrow, keep warm and take care. Ann xxxxBlind as you run...aware you were staring at the sun.
And when no hope was left inside on that starry starry night.

It's getting dark and DH and DS have just gone outside to play football. We managed to persuade DS to put some clothes on. I seem to have produced two naturists - DD often goes without undies, and will go without to school if she thinks she can get away with it.
I have been working since 10.30 this morning and haven't finished what I was doing. Feeling a bit sorry for myself, as it means I will have to take the computer, printer and a pile of books and papers up to Scotland for our 'holiday' with the ILs. But for now, I will give up and go and start preparing some food. DD has requested sprouts again. DS saw them on the table yesterday and managed a very theatrical 'euch'. He doesn't do green veg except for peas. Actually he only does peas and potatoes, and occasionally something chopped tiny and hidden in a sauce.
Best wishes to everyone who has been unwell or having other challenges at Christmas. Our washing machine woes pale in comparison.Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600Overpayments to date: £3000June grocery challenge: 400/6000 -

LOL, hope its not a premenition!!! Mind you, my 2 would love a camel!!0 -
Hi everyone. So much for my relaxing afternoon. I have taken a bed down with help from the kids. OH has gone out today so we have been left to our own devices... I have taken some wooden lats off the walls as well as taking the bed down, so the bedroom now looks like a building site  But it gives an extra inch or so all the way around, creating as much extra space is very important in a box room!! and the lats on the wall looked cr*p. At least the walls underneath don't look too bad and should only need minimal work on them. I managed to salvage the skirting boards so they should go back on ok-at least they will be more snug to the walls. DD1 made me a cuppa and I managed to find my way back on here. Better go and finish what i've started.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Well had another great day, kids been playing all day not one fight or moan which is lovely, ill give them another 24 hours before the return to their normal selfs!!!
Step-son was really pleased with his presents because him mum hadnt bought him any films for the psp we went halfs on, and she hadnt got him a memory card so he can save his progress on games which dh was fuming about, we had bought him films and iv been online and reserved a memory card at argos for him (half price) and we will give her money and reservation number to go get it, its the least she can do seen as we told her to get one with the money we gave her originally!!
Iv just had a hour tidying round upstairs and put some washing in, dont want it to get ontop of me again, i have sorted the fridge out and froze alot of items that havent been used up, some will be used for new year and i have a mega store for meals in new year.
Iv transfered unspent xmas money into savings account, something i wouldnt never have been able to do on boxing day before finding this site, so thanks guys for all you help and advice.

Not read thread today but just want to thank you all again for the birthday wishes. DGS1 and DGS2 were so totally into Granny's birthday. I was crying with joy! DGS3 so good - (slept 6.00 pm too early until 5.30 am - almost 12 hours) - he usually does 7.00-7.00. Big boys late in bed last night but GB got up at 6.45 for them.
Had an absolute fabulous Christmas. The presents for the boys totally over the top. DSIL and friend's son out at 10.00 pm doing Power Rangers with the helmets, tabards and guns!!!!!!!!!
Up the loft again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well I am now 57 so allowances should be made.
Love and hugs to you all

Happy Boxing Day! :j
Sounds like most people had a good day yesterday except for those feeling poorly, so big hugs to those still feeling ill. I sympathise with you as I remember one year rushing around, getting everything ready and finally sitting down to eat my xmas dinner and ending up in bed for a week with a really bad virus.
We had a good day yesterday although I seemed to spent most of it feeding everyone and was shattered when I finally got to bed. DH collected my MIL who can be quite difficult/negative and she spent the day with us and seemed to enjoy her day with only the odd moan.
My parents came over too which was lovely as they go to Australia tomorrow to stay with my brother for 8 weeks and I'm really going to miss them. We had a tearful goodbye when they left as I'm really close to both of them.
Anyway the girls had a great day and were delighted with the new keyboard (DD1) and the junior drumkit (DD2) and it was quite noisey here for most of the day!:rotfl: DD2 (age 7) got lots of lego, construction kits etc and has been busy building bionicles, ships and various other things. She's able to build almost anything and we think she'll end up being a structural engineer or similar.
DD1 (age 11) now has almost as much make-up and smellies as Boots and smells lovely! :rotfl: They both got a few games for their DS Lites and spent a lot of time playing them and tons of other things which are still in their boxes.
I had a sort out in DD2's bedroom this morning and have filled 5 binbags of old toys for the charity shop and DD1 is sorting her room out and has just told me she has 3 more binbags of stuff!
Most of my presents were selected/bought by me and then given to DH, MIL, parents to wrap up! That way I got what I wanted and needed. So I was 'given' a new hairdryer, Ghost perfume, slippers, lots of books, silver bracelet, 2 CDs chosen by DH and lots of chocolate.:D
We had lots of food yesterday and the Xmas dinner was a huge success. The turkey crown from Asda was really juicey and the ham went down well. We're having bubble and squeak for tea as it's The Law here on Boxing Day! :rotfl:
I'm boiling the turkey carcass to make stock and I'm going to freeze the rest of the turkey in it for future pies, stews etc. We have tons of chocolates and biscuits as my pupils gave me quite a bit at the end of term and then my parents brought more yesterday. The cupboards, freezer and fridge are well stocked, so I'm hoping to have a really small grocery budget for next month.
One of yesterday's highlights was Dr Who which we all sat and watched and really enjoyed. I love David Tennant and can't wait for the next series. We splashed out and bought the last series on DVD for the girls, but we love watching them too.:D
Right I'm off to make the tea, so Have a good evening everyone!0
