Just about to go and get dressed and get a couple of loaves from the corner shop..

Trying to persuade DDs to come with me to see "I am Legend!"

DD(18) needs to revise for exams at uni and DD(13) has a bad cold so maybe only two can come with me.

    See you all later.

    Afternoon all (just)

Had a fantastic day yesterday, dd got far to much stuff but loved it. I have put some things away to be brought out later in the year as she has a long wait between present sessions with her birthday being in December.

The meal was lovely even if I do say so myself and then we did the visiting rounds first to my dads and then to BIL's were the clan had gathered. DD kept going till 9ish then we had took her home and she slept till 9.30 this morning. Today we are having a lazy day then a trip to in-laws later for tea.

Hope everybody had a good one havent read the thread yet and I'm off for a bath in peace DH has promised to keep dd occupied a soak in the bath is a rare occurance for me.

    Hello all.

Having a day for ourselves today.. The teenager we care for has gone to his girlfriends till tomorrow. One of the other lads who used to be in our care is calling up this afternoon with his girlfriend but apart from that its a day just for ourselves.OH has gone off to the pub andI've soon got to start tofind some space to put christmas pressies.

OH is a real money saver...............hes given me a voucher for the new hair salon........£35 offer on for hair do, massage, leg wax etc. and I can spread it over 6 months if I want and he picked up 5 videos for £1 from help the aged.
One of them was Joe Brown in concert..........worked out costing 20p.......unused so played brilliantly and for me it was like being at the show I saw him in at the theatre in Skegness all over again.:j

Ordered some baskets in the sale at Argos so I can start making gift baskets for pressies through the year...........:T another money saving idea thanks to this site.

Hope you all had a good christmas and enjoy today............

    Hello folks,

Yesterday was my first Christmas not at my parents - it was really odd, didn't feel like Christmas. It was ok though :). OH got me a RC helicopter, which the cat loves (he got entangled in the tree last night trying to catch it) :)

Well, I went to the train station to try and get a train to go to Plymouth for the sales. Office wasn't open, I expected that. Went to the machine, bought my ticket. Waited an hour and a half, rang OH to ask him to ring Natinal Rail and find out if there actually were trains running - no, there wasn't. WHY were there no Christmas timetables posted ANYWHERE at the station (I did look)???? And why did the machine sell me a ticket if there were no trains :mad ??
So now I am back at home with the whole plan for the day messed up.

OH has gone to a friends house with our Wii as Argos failed to deliver theirs, so their little girl is without her Christmas present.

Not sure what I am going to do today, check out the online sales I guess. Stick a couple loads of washing on.

Dinner will be leftovers from yesterday.

kyle I am sorry to hear you guys were ill over Christmas. You will have to have another Christmas when you are all well again. :)

Hm. Next door have several large dogs staying over Christmas. As everyone has gone out and left them on their own, they are now howling.

Afternoon everyone.........((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))) if you need one...............

Well another bad night this time OH coughing, I was still awake at 2.30am, getting a bit p****d off now. He has an appointment at the Dr's 2nd Jan....could not get one before then!!!!!!!!! I think I will go with him. I know he will only tell the Dr. half the story.

Only one person turned up for the coffee morning, so we packed up and I did the pile of ironing that has been haunting me for the last couple of days. We have just has lunch, bread and cheese and OH has gone out for a walk. Its quite bright and sunny, but guess its quite cold.

Cold meat and jacket spuds for supper tonight with trifle to follow.........then I will parcel the rest of the meat up and freeze it, there should be enough beef to do at least 2 more suppers, I sliced it last night..........

Lots of emails this morning from friends in the US who had opened their Chrissy presents after we had gone to bed.

poorly ones I hope you are still feeling better. Fortunately what ever was ailing me yesterday morning cleared off after I had a snooze on the settee...............

    Take care everyone..................

    Happy Boxing Day everyone!

Kyle - I'm so sorry you are all ill. What a horrid Christmas for you! Get well soon.

Mioliere - hope you are feeling a bit better today! Try to get plenty of rest so that you're saving your energy for fighting off the germs.

Penny-Pincher - glad you had a good day yesterday, thank goodness you didn't have to stay in hospital for Christmas.

Aussielass - hope that cyclone stays where it is, or was last time you looked.

Math and Queenie - how lovely to "see" you!:D

    Welcome, littlemissclumsy

Oh dear, amongst my other presents I have:

    1 box of M & S Belgian Chocs

1 box of Thornton's Continental Chocs

1 box of Thornton's "Christmas Choccies"

! pack of Thornton's Truffle Christmas Trees

and a Terry's Chocolate Orange which was my present to myself in case no one gave me any chocs! :D

We had lunch at DD1's yesterday, so will cook our boned turkey breast today and have it with HM roasties, parsnips and carrots, then Christmas pud, as we ate cold desserts yesterday at DD1's. I think I'll do bacon sarnies for lunch, but will grill the bacon.:A

We went round to DD2's in the morning yesterday with their presents and were able to make a huge fuss of DGS and to meet DGD for the first time. She too had a red sleeping suit, with "Santa's Little Helper" on it (I think "Mummy's Christmas Pudding" is better!), and fleece reindeer booties :D She's lovely and has dark hair like her Dad. (Her parents are just about getting their heads round the fact that they have a girl - they didn't want to know the baby's sex in advance, but were convinced it was a second boy:D

On the health front, I feel fine but DH still unwell - he hasn't coughed so much today (so far) though, so hopefully the antibiotics are finally kicking in. We're not planning to go anywhere today though, and not expecting anyone to turn up, so he can have a good rest.

I know there were quite a lot of other poorly peeps/OHs/LOs, sorry I cant remember who you all were but I'm thinking of you.(((HUGS)))

    All for now, Best wishes

    ivyleaf xx
  • havent posted on the daily thread for yonks.....( sorry) but i am going to try and post every day to try and keep me on track so to speak... had a lovely christams day..went to my mothers for dinner so no cooking for me lol.... came back with a load of cooked un eaten veg so this is going in the freezer in mexed meal portions for one, so i can use them for work.....

today i am sorting out the spare room, which i have been using for ebay/ junk room..... as the boys want to turn it into a music room for all their amps and guitars ..... also the model railway set up from down one of the out buildings will also come up to the spare room too, as youngest one doesnt like going down there any more ....

they are right i supose as now my hobby is a full blown business with business unit etc.. in reality there should be no more ebay items around the house.... well except some smaller items ....:D

i also need to sort out the top end of the kitchen where all my craft stuff is.. this needs to go to the unit too, so alot of the stuff can be sold.. as we need to move our 5ft fish tank from the spare room to the end of the kitchen....

so in reality loads of things need sorting over the next few days....and as hubby got 2 weeks off work.. i might as well make the most of him....:D

havent used my new bread maker yet.....but there is still quite a bit of food to be eaten..and bread here to be used up....

will report back later to let you know how i am getting on.. if not send out the search parties as i am lost in the room of DOOOOOOOMMMMM lol....

well thats what it fels like looking at the mess.....lol...

hope everyone is having a nice boxing day.....
