Do you think Brocolli cheese will work as well as Caulilower?

I've got a load of Brocolli that was half price at the supermarket. I quite fancy making a cheese sauce to go with it. Do you reckon it would work as a cauliflower substitute?

Why wouldn't it ?:) Any cooked veg is good in cheese sauce
add a bit of crispy bacon or some ham. Use to top a baked spud.
Broccoli and cauli are particularly nice in a stilton sauce.0 -

I also add a bit of either tomato puree or some chopped tinned tomatoes to the brocolli, before adding the cheese sauce.
Blue cheese sauce is good if you have any leftover blue from x-mas day.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
I've been known to microwave the left over Sunday dinner veg and smother in Cheese Sauce as an alternative to Bubble & Squeak.
Go on, you'll enjoy it. :beer:Aiming to be Debt free by October 20130 -
you could make brocolli and cheese quiche0

You could also freeze it to save time with prep another day. On Sunday this week I prepared double the veg for the roast, blanched it and bagged it then just bunged it in the steamer on Xmas day. (I know it would have kept that long but just wanted to save time on the day!)Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0

If you cook some pasta shapes and mix it with the cooked broc and a cheese sauce (with mustard and a pinch of oregano) and bang it in the over - voila! pasta & brocolli bake...
Scrummy, quick, a full meal0
