Meat still frozen...please help

I took my meat out of the freezer yesterday morning and put it in the fridge to defrost. Now 24hrs later it is still frozen, even got frost and ice on the outside of the meat. Can I defrost it in the microwave and if so how long? I've tried to google to find a solution but the answers seems to be contradicting.
It is lamb on the bone and 1.08kg, my microwave is 800W.

You can defrost in the microwave - do you have a defrost setting? Look at your book you may have a setting that allows you to input the weight and it does the rest.

If not USE DEFROST SETTING and try bursts of 10 minutes at a time and then a rest of 5 minutes. Keep prodding - you'll see when you've done enough.

Can also defrost by putting in a bowl of COLD (don't use hot or warm) water and turning over regularly - but this is a slow method.

note for new year - sort out fridge settings - think they must be a bit too cold.
Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Yes there is a defrost setting but no indication how long to leave the meat in for. I dont have the manual, microwave is over 5yrs old. Can't put it in the sink in cold water. My husband ripped our kitchen out in the summer and we have not yet installed a new one and therefore no sink...:(

Try it on the defrost setting for 10 minutes. Rest it, try again.

Alternatively, how about filling the bath with cold water and putting in that?

What's the make and model of the microwave? Maybe we can find it online?
  • Lamb can be cooked from frozen, but defrosting in the MW will be fine. I would just keep doing it for 10mins at a time till done.

I've had it in for 10min and doing another 10min now. Panic is starting to settle.
Thank you all for your help. I'm 11 weeks pregnant, emotions are running high along with morning sickness so it's hard to concentrate properly.
