Purchased a used car from a dealership and within 3 weeks it broke down, and it had a number of serious faults. AA towed it back to dealership who offer a 'no quibble 30 day exchange plan'. Same day we visit the dealership who refuse to offer an exchange, only a repair. We reject the vehicle and leave it at dealership as…

Possible coolant leak after timing belt change
Had the timing belt changed recently on my car, with the water pump changed also. Garage also changed a few of the core plugs also (yes, it's a Ford) due to evidence of corrosion. Replaced the coolant as a matter of course. 700 miles or so later (and I am a fool for not checking earlier, I know) the coolant level was down…

Almera screen wash problem - pump or bottle broken?
Hi all. I was using the screen wash earlier, when I heard a thud. The pump appears to have broken as there is no noise when trying to use the screen wash. If I lift the bonnet and refill the screen wash, it simply drains to the floor which makes me think it's a crack in the screen wash bottle. However, would this also…

premium petrol question
Just got a new car and when I put petrol in for first time, there is a reminder on the petrol cap to use premium unleaded. Now, I've only ever used the cheaper standard unleaded. i dont want to damage the new car, but is there really much difference in the two? I know its only a few pence more, but it adds up to a lot when…

New Car Purchased
Hi all after much deliberation I have changed my 7 seater People carrier for a car. I have enjoyed the people carrier, great for holidays, very versatile and has been very reliable. Light humming
Recently had a replacement brand new alternator and battery all professionally fitted. However, at idle the car makes a "like" humming noise, sounds abit like a turbo charger noise, but not that good. When driving or at revs the noise disappears. It's coming from around where the alternator is, but don't think from intial…
