Almera screen wash problem - pump or bottle broken?

Hi all.
I was using the screen wash earlier, when I heard a thud. The pump appears to have broken as there is no noise when trying to use the screen wash. If I lift the bonnet and refill the screen wash, it simply drains to the floor which makes me think it's a crack in the screen wash bottle. However, would this also explain no noise when I try to use the screen wash?
I am loathed to go to a garage/Kwik Fit if this is something I can replace myself...
Thanks everyone.

If you are sure the bottle is cracked, a quick fix might be to get a replacement from a scrap yard and replace yours, then try again.Hoping this year is better than the last.0

I doubt the bottle is cracked as they're usually made of a waxy fairly flexible plastic which doesn't crack-they're pretty tough. Its more likey either a pipe has popped off or the pump has come out of the little hole in the tank that it draws water from. Both are easy to fix if you can get to the bottle(often behind the front bumper).0

If you're really unlucky, to get to the bottle and pump, you might have to remove the roadwheel and the wheel arch liner.
There's probably a reason for why the pump/pipe has popped off.. the pipe or the jets are blocked..0 -
Pumps are pretty universal and can be bought for £18 from Halfruads, just tell the chap your car and he'll point the right one out to you. They just lift off and will take a minute to swop.0

universal pumps come in two forms duel pipe outlet or single pipe outlet. halfrauds are expensive i would suggest your local motor factor. used to sell these at ex works for a £5.00.
duel oulet is for headlamp washer and screen.0 -
Thanks everyone.
Skiddlydiddly, full marks to you!!! You were spot on. Removed the bumper and the pump had indeed simply popped out. Fit it back together and it now works. I would kiss you if you were here!
