Scrapping a Car....

Options
Hi,

My husband has a 2000 Rover 45 and following a crash today we are expecting it to be too expensive to repair and his insurance is TPFT so repair costs will not be covered?

How would we go about scrapping the car and can you get any money for scrapping the car or would we have to pay to scrap it?

Thanks
Sarah

Have a look in the local press, I recently sold several scrap vehicles, non with MOTs and some non runners, average price was £100 each collected. This is Hull in East Yorkshire.
Remember to fill the registration document (V5) in correctly, you only mark it as scrapped if you scrap (break up the vehicle), otherwise mark it as sold to a dealer or third party as appropriate.
The ones we sold, the person purchasing sold them to a scrapyard, as ours was the last name on the V5 we received a scrapping certificate through the post

Ebay is maybe a better option, accurate description and a starting price of whatever your local scrap yard will pay
