Just bought a 2006 Megan £4k

I was wondering, as we were at the dealership what happens next if anyone knows?
We paid £1k less than offering price, they said it would be fully MOT'd (12 months) was wondering if anyone knows what happens when we go to pick it up (R.E Tax etc?) was happy to sign but forgot what we need to do on wednesday lol.
Thanks

If its from a garage, double check if it has tax. If not, make sure your insured for the day you collect it, they'll give you the new keeper supliment which you can use to tax the vehicle at any local post office (Just have a copy of the invoice showing you just purchased it etc)0

You will need to have the car insured (most dealers today will be able to offer seven days free insurance cover) in order for it to be taxed, no franchised dealer will release the car until it has been taxed. If you have a part-exchange, you will need to make sure you have the V5 and MOT (and any previous ones can be useful to any future owner), service book, manuals, radio codes and all spare keys. Don't forget to bring your money with you either. Most dealers will take a debit card (very few will take a credit card on that amount). If you are using finance, remember to bring two forms of identification, including your driving licence (if it is a photocard licence, you need to bring the paper counterpart as well). The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

I hope it had good kit and low mileage for that price.0

It was expensive, we picked up a low mileage 2005 dynamique for £2500 last week.:money:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

For safety reasons get the car checked over, it's not in a dealers interest to find faults when MOT'ing a car they've already sold and the MOT won't be worth the paper it's printed on
They know full well you probably won't find there's a problem until you come to MOT it next year, outside of any warranty and without chance of come backs.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

+1
Picked up a car with a full MOT (that morning) with faulty wiper linkage and no handbrake to speak of :cool:0 -
As already said, your car was no bargain.
http://www.cargiant.co.uk/Renault/Megane/details-502209-Renault-Megane.asp?viewtype=0 £4799.
This is a 2008/08 Megane Estate Diesel, above average miles, but at that price you can't go wrong.
Unless it is a top of the range model with leather etc then it is expensive. Or if you have bought it from a Renault main dealer.
This is a link to one on Autotrader, 2006, 1.6 VVT Dynamique, 5 dr hatch. £2499, 70k miles on the clock.
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201115384424973/sort/priceasc/usedcars/maximum-age/up_to_5_years_old/price-to/6000/price-from/2000/model/megane/make/renault/radius/60/postcode/rm191lh/page/1?logcode=p
The above car is at a small dealer, so your car is around £1500 more expensive, considering they are the same age, and the one in the above link is a top spec one, you need to think about your purchase before you go ahead.
Never pay big money for a Megane, if you buy the one you intend to, keep it for a year and you will be offered about £1500 on trade-in, my advise take a bit of time.0 -

 But you have no idea how much KK9000 paid, what year or variant the car is. :huh:The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

Yeah....because a testing station is really going to risk losing their VOSA ticket to save a few bob on fixing a car. :wall:The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
