No offence buddy, ordinarily youd be correct of any MOT station.... But an awful lot of people buy a 2nd hand car and totally ignore (or are oblivious to) any faults it may have, especially if the salesman says something like "oh that noise is because we changed the cambelt, it'll go away in 3 months time" (when the warranty has run out).

Then 12 months later the next MOT tester turns off the stereo and finds the wheels hanging off, the wipers broken, the exhaust knackered and the brakes shafted, it fails it's MOT and the owner is left unable to prove a damn thing about the selling garage.

The fact is, they rarely if ever get caught out.

    What a nonsensical post.

Buying a car from a dodgy sales person, is totally different to assuming that all used car dealerships are going to fake an MOT.

Funnily enough the MOT station was about a mile away from the dealer - possibly MOT-by-phone :rotfl:

    Not possible these days.
Wasn't just a wiper blade, the linkage itself was gubbed. Interestingly when I returned with the car they claimed from the warranty company - saving money on prep? ;)

    Probably right.

I have seen *a lot* of cars from independent dealers, with new tickets, that would not pass according to the letter of the law.

Turning a blind eye to things seems to be rife in the industry.

Unfortunately that's an either a naive or over expectant view of the "new system", ask any MOT tester. Give me a good reason why it's not possible and I bet I can show you why it is possible, :shhh::shhh:
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
