Three contract renewel - Surely this can't be right
Hi I would be grateful for some advice. My one year sim contract with Three is due to end in 29 days. I phoned up Three to see what my options were. My current deal is 4GB data with unlimited limits and texts, for which I am charged £7.19 per month. Three were only able to offer to renew my contract at £9 per month for 12…

New contract or upgrade?
Just finished a 24-month contract with EE and looking around for a new phone but to stay with EE. Have seen on metrofone.co.uk a Samsung galaxy S10 128gb for £36 per month, no upfront costs and 45gb of data, although in the small print it says some deals may not be available for existing customers However, when I look on…

Broken mobile under guarantee
Hi, I've got a tesco mobile that is only 4 months old but has stopped working. It's been a bit battered and bruised but only stopped working today. I rang but was told over the phone if there is any visible sign of damage then it counts as a break so doesn't fall within the 12 month guarantee. Is this worth appealing and…

3 Took DD After I Left - Now CAN'T CONTACT THEM To Get My Money Back
Left 3 to join another network. They still took the DD after I left. Now they keep sending bills showing I am in credit and asking me to "call them" to get the money refunded. Only it's now impossible to call. FB, Twitter and other forms of customer service are shut, can't visit a shop. They keep insisting that I use the…

when is the optimum time to change mobile phone contracts?
Hi guys. My contract with O2 ends 13th June and I am looking to change providers (seen a number of better deals). I'll go with a sim only deal as my current iPhone isn't too bad and if I decide I need a new one I'll just get it direct from Apple using their trade in option. Now my question. I will request a PAC from O2 to…

EE £500+ taken by DD
An elderly friend of mine just called me to ask advice. She saw that he current acct was overdrawn, which she never is. She checked and saw that EE had taken £550 by DD. She contacted them and they said that two calls to the USA, one of 1hr. another of 2hrs. had been made in April. She hasn't made any such calls. Her son…

Has anyone tried a thermal pouch to prevent phone from overheating?
I'm looking for a way of preventing my phone from overheating when I'm outside (at the moment it frequently runs very hot, and often becomes completely unresponsive until it cools down - it's an LG V20). I was wondering whether anyone had tried a thermal pouch like this: https://phoozy.com/pages/phoozy-protection ...or can…

3 SIM-only coming to end. What will happen?
I've got a 3 SIM only contract for a year that comes to an end in a month or so. I get 8gb of data and unlimited minutes and texts for £10 per month, although it's recently gone up to £10.27 as per their inflation increase policy. Looking at what SIM-only contracts with 3 now cost I can see I'm getting quite good value by…

Best SIM card for Dubai, United Arab Emirates
I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a SIM card for use in Dubai, UAE. I'm not too worried about the cost of making calls but I am looking for one where the cost of receiving incoming calls is either very low, or preferably free. The main UK mobile networks are very expensive for receiving calls in the…

Virgin Mobile PAYM to PAYG
I had a VM 12 month Contract 16 months ago. Paid all in full. Reached the end of the contract and contacted VM to cancel my contract. They said they would transfer me to PAYG which was fine. No problems. Just looked at my credit file and noticed that it shows 3 months of zero usage on the end of my contract payments. Is…

When should your contract start
Just switched to an O2 SIM only tariff and they started my contract the following day but my SIM didn’t arrive until the fifth day following due, presumably, to a weekend and the impact on Royal Mail of coronavirus. Interestingly the following weekend was the BH so that would have added an extra day. Complained to O2 and…

Virgin mobile app
Does anyone have a similar ptoblem to this? My plan refreshed on the 16th, and according to it I've used 5581 minutes??? This was on the 16th itself. I've also used over 5GB of data, also on the 16th. Is there any point in using this obviously innaccurate app? Now the 17th and it hasn't changed!!

How do I unlock a secondhand phone?
I've bought a Samsung phone from someone as mine was dying but it's locked to O2. I know O2 don't charge for unlocking phones but how do I go about it? I want to use a sim card from Asda mobile and I'm not a customer of O2.
