3 SIM-only coming to end. What will happen?

I've got a 3 SIM only contract for a year that comes to an end in a month or so. I get 8gb of data and unlimited minutes and texts for £10 per month, although it's recently gone up to £10.27 as per their inflation increase policy.

Looking at what SIM-only contracts with 3 now cost I can see I'm getting quite good value by comparison. I've looked through 3's terms and conditions, a fascinating document,  and can't find what happens at the end.

I'd like to continue paying what I pay and keep everything the same on a monthly rolling basis but I'm wondering if 3 will suddenly increase my payments based on the fact that my contract was a special offer via this site!

I know 3 are infamous for keeping on taking payments for contracts where you also buy a phone, even when the phone is paid for, which is pretty bad, but in my case just carrying on would be exactly what I want!

If your willing to sign for another year just ring them up and after a bit of haggling they will give you the same tariff for £8/month.
It isn't on their website but if you look on topcashback you will see they do this when they want to.
My daughter tried it and they did it as an upgrade.
I did it a different way...
I took out a new contract on topcashback to get £32.50 cashback then asked them to swop the number over from the old SIM to the new SIM.
They also do 12gb for £10 with £57.50 cashback.

That's interesting to know, thanks. What interests me is what happens if I do nothing?!

It will just carry on as it is on a monthly rolling contract going up by inflation each year.

Ah right, that's what I was hoping. So if I fancy commiting to another year I can ring up and get it down to £8 but if I want to keep my options open I can just do nothing. Thanks

When you took your your plan, did Three state  (in the t&cs's) that your price would only be for the first 12 months and from month 13 onwards it would revert to their standard (higher) cost? If not, then i'm fairly certain you will continue to pay the same amount from month 13 onwards but now you will be on a rolling 30 day contract. Best to check your plan's t&cs :)

If you go through simsherpa.com you can get the same Three plan for £8/m or with 12gb data for £10/m - these are "hidden" Three plans. If you're willing to commit to another 12 month term ask Three if they can put you on one of these plans, there's a good chance they will.

    Good bargaining material! Thanks

Phone contracts don't 'come to an end' they simply reach the end of their minimum term, then move to a rolling 30 day contract - it will have been in your T&C's
