when is the optimum time to change mobile phone contracts?
Hi guys.
My contract with O2 ends 13th June and I am looking to change providers (seen a number of better deals). I'll go with a sim only deal as my current iPhone isn't too bad and if I decide I need a new one I'll just get it direct from Apple using their trade in option.
Now my question. I will request a PAC from O2 to keep my number, but when should I do this? Is it too early and do I only do this on 13th June when the contract finishes, or do you still need to give some kind of notice? Because my current contract included the cost of the phone I don't want to end up pay too much because I left it too late (as my 2 year contract will have included the cost of the handset) but also, don't want to be hit by some stupid early release fee from O2.

Pedant mode, sorry. The contract doesn't 'end' it just moves to a rolling 30 day contract.Sadly, it's all in the T&C's that we never read, but that will answer all your questions.Good luck1

If your on an o2 refresh contract you just pay off what you owe of the phone and can cancel0

I'm stuck on an EE monthly contract that doesn't expire until 3/22.This contract was started just before Coronavirus kicked in .I now have much lower overall useage and could get by on a paygo monthly arrangement. My fault as I should have read the t&cs better.
It's a £180 to buy out, are there any other options open to me ?
Any advice appreciated.
