Old stop !!!! - cap it off
Hey We have two stop cocks in our house. One of them has nothing feeding off it. A plumber has recommended to dig down into our concrete floor, cap it off and then concrete over. I have no idea, from the meter, where the pipe tee's off. Is what he suggests safe?

The great mattress hunt

Having spent a month looking into the options, I have even less of an idea than why I started. The fake sales, marketing…

Empty Cartridges but no money repaid
I tried to save a bit of money by sending off my empty ink cartridges to a recycling company. 40 in total. Prior to sending I called the company to ask how much I would get for the cartridges. I was quoted approx £40. They arranged collection so I excitedly awaited by money. A few weeks later I called as I received no…

Baxi Duotec 40 vs Vaillant 837
I am looking to fit a new boiler and have narrowed it down to the the Baxi Duotec 40 HE and Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 837. Looking at the spec, the Baxi has a slightly higher power output and the flow rate is also better. The Baxi is also £250 cheaper. So my question is, is there any reason to go for the Vaillant? Does it have…

Filling in a window
Hello We need to fill in a window in order to make a new kitchen. What is the best way to do this? Our plasterer said about putting plaster boarding over it. He would be fitting battens around the hole. Is this ok? Or Should we brick it in? He knows the purpose of the room he is plastering. But would it be safe to install…
