Baxi Duotec 40 vs Vaillant 837

I am looking to fit a new boiler and have narrowed it down to the the Baxi Duotec 40 HE and Vaillant ecoTEC Plus 837.
Looking at the spec, the Baxi has a slightly higher power output and the flow rate is also better. The Baxi is also £250 cheaper.
So my question is, is there any reason to go for the Vaillant? Does it have better features than the Baxi?

Baxi for me now. Used to like Vaillant, but since part of glowworm i think the quality has fallen, and their CS. And Baxi offer longer warranties0

Both the Baxi and Vaillant come with 7 years warranty.
So does the Vaillant have any advantages over the Baxi?0 -

When the installer did the survey did they explain why a 37+ kw boiler was necessary? You need excellent cold water pressure to benefit from the output.0 -

Yes, it was reccomended. British Gas came and quoted on a Baxi Duotec 40 and there own British Gas 537. The house water flow rate was 15 litres per minute and pressure around 3 BAR.
Also another installer also advised on 37+kw.0 -
ummm personally I wouldn't be fitting a combi if you only have 15 ltrs/minI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -

Certainly no bigger than a 28/30kw Combi.
You're wasting your money on anything bigger.0 -
What is the reason for that? The baxi brochure recommends a minimum flow rate of 2 litres per second on all its duotec boilers.0

Any more views regarding this?0

The 40kw can provide hot water at about 16 litres a minute. You have a flow which is less than this so you will be paying for a boiler larger than you need.
A 30ish kW boiler will provide hot water at about 13-14 litres per minute which is closer to you mains pressure and being MSE you will save money on the boiler.
We have had no issues with a Vaillant, but many heating problems are down to installations rather than the equipment fitted.0 -
Understood, thank you.
The current boiler is a 28kw and it's undersized which has been confirmed by 2 different engineers. The radiators only get hot if the heating is set to near maximum and there radiators are affected big time when a hot water tap is turned on.
Therefore I'm not wanting to pay thousands for a new boiler install that is only 10% better than currently.0
