back door with letter box
Hi, If you were buying a house and the back door had a letter box on it, would it put you off? I would block it up. I'm looking at second hand doors on eBay and there are plenty with letter boxes... Not ideal, but if I can save £100 I'm thinking it may be worth it, but wanted to get an idea of what other people thought

recommendations for digital aerial splitter please
We have far too many TVs, I'll admit it now. During the house re-furb, we put in 9 aerial points, and then realised that it's tricky to get splitters (ie the box that sits in the roof) that are more than 6-way, 8-way if you're lucky. We've tried running a splitter off of a splitter (6-way off of 6-way, not amplified as…

A customer of mine has bought a suite and tiles from me but their plumber has had a problem with the shower. It is a Moods valve with an arm and head coming straight from the wall. Periodically during the night the shower will turn itself on and run for a minute or so and then go off. This can happen 3 or 4 times a night.…

What are current gas fire flue standards?
In 1999, my house had the chimney stack removed. All the internal bits are still there, it's the bit above the roofline that has gone. The chimney was lined and a metal flue pipe was put where the stack used to be. We have always had gas fires and everything worked fine. Last year, I had my boiler serviced and the man that…

Are freestanding towel rails sturdy enough?
I need a freestanding towel rail but I'm concerned it may topple over with the weight of damp towels or will topple if someone pulls a towel out to use. I've never needed a freestanding version before so I have no idea if they are practical or rubbish. Are they all much and such or are there good and bad versions? Any…
