How much to budget for a new front door?

My wooden front door is now warped and its only going to get worse so i need to budget for a new door, however it will also need all the surround doing as well.

The only issue i have is that when you open the door it cant be fully open as we have an internal door that in the wonderful idea of the original builder needed to be to close to the outer door so that it catches the skirt on the inner.

However as a rough cost how much should I budget for having a new PVC front door supplier and fitted?

cheers all

What you should think about when you do change your door is the possibility of having it outward opening.

The cost will depend upon so many things, starting at where do you live and what design you want.

We did but dont like the idea of knocking all our visitors over like skittles, fun though it may sound
  • Went to a local upvc fitter to get an idea of prices basically was told for standard white finish, removal of old, instalation and disposal of old would be:

    window £275
    front door £750
    patio/french door £950

You should be looking at prices fully fitted at around £800.

Have recently had a new composite front door and frame with top sky light fitted for £1100....composite was a more durable option for us than upvc and a bit more substantial in weight and quality.

Get a quote from local firms .... dont bother with the nationals...they are far more expensive and want to replace windows and anything else going!
