Help!!!!! The weights in my vertical blinds have started to smell like very bad body odour! It took ages to track down the source of the smell - blamed our teenage son first...
Have tried soaking them in vanish, bleach etc but they still stink! Any ideas?

Measure them and replace ??
For example

Thanks - already done that and smell is back again after 12 months. Cant keep replacing the weights as not economical.0

ditch the vertical blinds for venetian or roman blinds......may save your nose and purse in the long run0

What are they made of - mine are just some sort of plastic, never noticed a smell (going to have to go and check now) you sure someone isn't shoving prawns in there as a prank?!0

Replace them with lovely curtains! Every window in our house had these blinds when we moved in, I couldn't understand it, I hate them with a passion, they remind me of the dentist or a hospital! Plus they make you miss out on the decorative potential of curtains, they are brilliant for spying on the neighbours though, if you know how to angle them just right
Saying that, loads a people on our cul de sac have them so I think one door to door salesman had a field day round here.
I think the old fella who lived here just had whatever was going round the door, we've got cavity wall insulation and a ridiculous amount of loft insulation, I think whoever came selling some he just said "If you can get it in here, I'll have it", the house is boiling!Started Comping 25th September 2013.

Most blind comopanies do 3 for £99 using cheap fabrics,
Vertical are still best value. Not sure why the weights smell, Smell of what exactly...... might be the radiator melting them.

Yes I know, I don't have issues, I was joking! The insulation was the only thing in the house worth having, almost everything else needed stripping out or repairing, I suppose because it was free it was the only thing he had done!
Vertical blinds are so ugly though.Started Comping 25th September 2013.
