If you can afford the extra, get a thermostatic one.

Electric showers are cold fill only, and fill from your cold mains. The water comes straight in from the pipes outside. In winter, the incoming water is MUCH colder and so you have to turn the heat up on the shower. You end up adjusting it every time the weather changes. We've got normal electric showers and if I was doing the bathrooms again I'd definitely pay extra for thermostatic (where you can set it on a temperature, e.g. 38 degrees, and it heats to that temperature).

One of my friends got a remote controlled shower. They can turn it on from their bed and a light in it flashes when it's up to temperature. :D
