Plumber's help required

A customer of mine has bought a suite and tiles from me but their plumber has had a problem with the shower. It is a Moods valve with an arm and head coming straight from the wall. Periodically during the night the shower will turn itself on and run for a minute or so and then go off. This can happen 3 or 4 times a night.

The plumbing has not been changed as the same system was there before just the valve, arm and head have been changed. I got them a replacement cartridge thinking this would be the problem but the same issue still exists. Short of supplying a replacement valve is their anything else they could try?

Any help appreciated.

The shower itself as in water comes out of t'spout or the shower pump runs when it feels like it?

And your username is very spammy and their plumber really ought to be able to sort this out for himself.

    Cheers

  • what kind of system is it installed on, looking at the spec sheet it seems to be suitable for nearly every system apart from un-balanced supplies ie cold mains tank fed hot.
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Something doesnt sound quite right because they have a pull chord to turn on the shower pump. The water comes from the spout of the shower but the pump doesnt engage.

Im pretty sure its for their plumber to solve but im just trying to cover myself with regards the equipment supplied. They have had a new cartridge and I just cant see why the shower head, arm or valve would cause this problem.

So if the pump can be isolated then it won't be the flow switches operating of their own volition.

I think I'd like to know exactly how it is piped tbh.
