Extractor Fan In Bedroom
Paradise
Not sure if Im posting on the right board but was wondering if someone could help please? Ive had a fan installed in the bedroom its a positive input ventilation unit and the fan is driving me crazy at night as its constantly going. There is no way to turn it off apart from taking the main fuse out of the fuse box. I've heard that there should be an isolation switch on it and it is illegal without one as was wondering if anyone knew for definite if this is the case?

All I can tell you is that just before our self house passed its electrical cert the sparky came back and added isolator switches to all the fans in the bathrooms...........and they are switched fans!
I thought it was overkill myself.0 -
To conform to current regulation standards the fan should have been fitted with local isolation in one form or another. You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0
