Water heater on timer?
I'm looking for a timer to replace a fused spur. (I hgave had contact with the manufacturer and they recommend that one of the leeds should be on timer as we don't have eco7 in our new place) It would be technically possible to replace it with a switch and use a timer, but I doubt it would hold the 3kw (i'm still looking…

All starting to look a bit worn and we only get time to do quick touch ups here and there! Thanks - guessing it maybe out of my budget…

Advice needed as I'm getting 2 different stories for cracks on my wall
Two years ago, I got a French door put in one of my bedrooms. The old window was removed and the brick work beneath the window was taken out in order to fit the door. The work was carried out by a local double glazing & UPVC company, which was FENSA registered. A few weeks ago, a crack appeared in the external wall…

How much to give a housemate for cleaning?
I'm thinking of getting in a cleaner, and considering offering my (unemployed) housemate/tenant first refusal. She's good at cleaning and she could use the money. I'm getting really stressed out with the amount of stuff in my life right now, so I think this could be a good solution. It would involve: - doing the washing up…

Have I fitted the brushes the wrong way round?
I've just spent ages trying to get the motor out of my washing machine. I finally manged it and was so chuffed I'd got that far that I whipped the old brushes out and didn't pay enough attention to which way they sat. I put the new brushes in and the machine is now working but it's making a really strange noise like some…

Oven not heating up
I have a fan assisted built in Smeg (model SP9000X/1) oven at home and the fan still seems to be working, but the oven itself isn't heating up. Is it likely to be the heating element that's gone? I'm assuming the best thing is to source one and fit it myself?
