Oven not heating up

I have a fan assisted built in Smeg (model SP9000X/1) oven at home and the fan still seems to be working, but the oven itself isn't heating up.

Is it likely to be the heating element that's gone? I'm assuming the best thing is to source one and fit it myself?

We've had two Smeg ovens and both of those have needed elements replacing. First time we got Smeg to come out and replace the two elements (it was a double size oven) and it was about £120. In our current home we ordered the element from Smeg UK (cost about £25 with delivery, I vaguely recall) and got our friendly local electrician to fit it. Much cheaper. However, husband watched what they did and he said it was very easy to do and next time he'd replace it himself. THe Smeg UK shop delivered very quickly and I thought their prices were very fair. Incientally, until you get a new oven element, you can still use the cooker as a static oven; chose the option on the oven selector that looks like an equals sign (two straight lines over reach other) to operate the top and bottom elements.

Our fan oven (not a Smeg) recently blew its element and we just sourced a new one from eBay and DH fitted it in around 10 minutes - all for under £10.
