Free Sky Channels in second room

Hi all

I have the free sky channels in playroom for kids. i have old black sky box and one sky dish.

I have a second spare old black sky box. how can i connect this to the SAME dish but get DIFFERENT channels in each room.

someone told me i need to attach a four channel LNB to the sky dish, then LNB cable to second sky box. is this right?

how exactly do i do this? simple steps please.

thanks

You need to fit a Quad LNB to your dish - you can buy these cheaply on ebay. Take care not to knock the dish - if it goes out of alignment it's very hard to correct without a meter!

You need to run a length of coax cable from the LNB to the box location. You should be able to buy this online too - if not you can get it from a DIY shop - make sure you get some connectors with it!. Connect this cable to your second Sky box. You should pick up a very limited range of channels. To get the full range of freesat channels you need a card paired to the box. If your card is missing or not paired, you'll need to call Sky - they'll charge a small fee if you need a card (it was around £10-20 a few years ago when I did this).

  • Hi,

    they are called 'F' connectors.

Here's a wee video, how to fit.

Think you would be better with the proper cable.
