Internal Doors
Like everything else in this place our doors are weird sizes. We've managed to get doors wide enough but it turns out we can't get them the length they need to be so we're going to have to add a bit of timber to them before we paint and hang them. The question is does the piece of timber go on the top or bottom of the door…

Currently the heating has to be on at the same time if you just want hot water, not really good for the new tenant on a hot day when they fancy doing the dishes! Confused by doorbell
Hi All, Recently removed rusty old doorbell button and got a new one. (It hardly ever worked) Didn't have a lot of bell wire to play with, so have bought a new 5m length. Before we go gouging silicone sealant out of our upvc doorframe, we thought we'd better make sure the new button and wire would fix the problem. So we…

Damp Joist
I'd be very grateful for advice please. We've had a new bath fitted to discover the previous bath had not been sealed properly, causing water to seep into the main joist beneath. Floors to go Mis Selling
My wife and I recently bought £1000 worth of wood flooring based on the sales person telling us at the point of sale that we would have at least one 1800mm long board in each pack. She also said that we should buy from floors to go because they have 1800mm boards and the local competition do not. 1800mm boards are…

Front Door
My uPVC door need to be replaced. I've been looking at composite doors but I'd much prefer a wooden one, however, the door opens directly into an open plan room, which is quite difficult to heat. Are the insulation properties of a wooden door much worse than those of a composite one?
