I have lots (and I mean LOTS) of books to get rid of
Please feel free to move this if I've posted in the wrong place :) I have several boxes of books that were left in a cupboard by the previous tenant and they're taking up so much space it's unreal, there has to be around 300 books here. Basically I'd like my cupboard to be mine instead of housing a small library, so I'd…

HELP!! What has happened to my bath
Help desperately needed!!! Almost like somebody filled the…

Filtaclere Sewage Treatment FP3
Does anybody have any information, manuals or experience on these plants? The house we moved into 3 years ago shares one with a neighbour, (who controls it all and just passes me bills), and it seems to cost more that I envisaged it would to run. Between us we pay a £300 a year service charge, this empties it twice a year…

Study/Store/Utility or bedroom?
I have a extended end of terrace (renovation quote posted on the "is this quote fair" board), which has a spare room which can easily take a large single bed and cupboard. However the entry is via the kitchen only. If I brick this door up and shift to entry via the main lounge instead of the kitchen (it is a large…

Fencing open plan front garden-planning?
I live in one of those stupid open plan houses which has unfenced front gardens. As i despise my neighbour and believe that good fences make better neighbours, I'd like to put in a fence to clearly demarcate the property boundary . This would also allow me to plent my front garden, make it look better and prevent ignorant…

What's involved with reinforcing a floor?
I'm having second thoughts about the bath I was buying and I might be considering a large Carronite one instead. One bathroom site states that the floor may need re-inforced to support the extra weight of the Carronite bath, especially since it's fairly big at 1800 x 800. I've just laid a new floor and it's glued and…

lawn mowing service
I know it's not exactly moneysaving, but does anyone here use a lawn mowing service? Was wondering how much it costs (London prices!) - it's the one job I never seem to get done and it is so depressing to look at! Don't want the whole garden done, just the lawn mowed once a week or fortnight. Garden is about 50 ft long, 25…
