I have lots (and I mean LOTS) of books to get rid of

I have several boxes of books that were left in a cupboard by the previous tenant and they're taking up so much space it's unreal, there has to be around 300 books here.
Basically I'd like my cupboard to be mine instead of housing a small library, so I'd like to give the books away to a charity or something like that. I don't drive so I can't take them to a shop for donation, there's just too many and they're too heavy for me to manage by public transport.
Does anyone have any solutions to getting shot of them? I really don't want to toss them away as I'm sure many people would really enjoy them.

You could offer them on Freecycle and get people to collect them, perhaps group them into genres.
Or perhaps your local library would be happy to collect them? could be worth giving them a call and see if they would be prepared to send someone round?

Put them on ebay as a wholesale lot, "ideal car booter". Get rid of them in one lot. Buyer collects.
Give them to charity.
Put them on freecycle.
Spend 2-3 hours going through amazon to see if any are allegedly "worth" anything, then put them on Amazon for sale.
ebay -v- amazon. With ebay you end up with more in your pocket per book if they sell for the same price as they would on amazon, but you have to take your own photo and write a description, can take an hour a book. With Amazon you simply key in the ISBN number and click on "I have one to sell" so it's a 2-3 minute job per book.0 -

oxfam will actually collect a large number of books. they have dedicated book shops now and also warehouse depots all over the country.
i would imagine almost any charity shop will collect a large number of books.
freecycle is another option.Get some gorm.0 -
Be careful you do not own these books, they are still the legal property of the previous tenant. I'd ask the landlord to remove the books and contact the previous tenant.0
