Does anybody have any information, manuals or experience on these plants?
The house we moved into 3 years ago shares one with a neighbour, (who controls it all and just passes me bills), and it seems to cost more that I envisaged it would to run.
Between us we pay a £300 a year service charge, this empties it twice a year and an engineer inspects it (usually he seems to say the pump needs replacing or something needs unblocking and charges an extra £300ish!!)
The electricity bills I see suggest it consumes 200W 24 hours a day, is the pump on continuously? This almost another £300 annually.
A search of the web doesn't tell me much about this plant, but other systems seem to have significantly lower energy consumption and need less emptying. Do people normally have a service contract with this sort of system or just pay for emptying and repairs?
I don't think the neighbour understands the system at all, and I don't want to suggest any impropriety, but I need more information before I am comfortable enough to challenge any bills. Any advice welcomed
Thanks
