Safestyle door problem

Well, just gone to drop my wife off at work (she works in a night club), gone to lock the door and nothing, the locking mechanism is screwed.
I've taken the door handles off and managed to lock the door as there are 2 spindle holes in the lock mechanism, one for the handle, and one below it that does not have a spindle running through it,however by putting the handle spindle through and turning it using a adgustable spanner I have managed to lock the door permanently.
I need to know If the locking mechanism is universal on Safestyle doors or is it a safestyle only design?
2nd, is there any chance of them comming to fix the door tomorrow, we cannot live without the front door as the backings at the rear of our back yard are unkept by the local council, overgrown and a complete mess.
the door is less than 2 years old.

[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

Our windows are Safestyle and we have had no problems with them coming out several years down the line. Give them a call, but no idea if they will come out at such short notice.
Good luck,
