Crown Period EggShell - Wood & Metal - Radiator?

Hi guys,

Just a quick one, can this be used on radiators or is it imperative a 'radiator paint' is used?

Many thanks

Any paint that says on the tin, 'for wood and metal', is always oilbased, this is okay to use for rads, I use oil based undercoat/gloss/satinwood/eggshell all the time.
With the eggshell or satinwood you dont nee to undercoat the rad, as they are usually self undercoating, unless the rad is a bright colour lol

Radiator paint is horrilbe to work with, usually you have to have the rads on, and you can get in a right mess.
Dont use waterbased paints on Rads, but you will be okay with the paint you have.

It might be a little thick to use straight from the tin, so I would add a capful of white spirit, give it a good stir, and it will go on more smoothly, just keep an eye on any runs, keep checking the rad for the next hour, as you will be suprised that you might get the odd little run trying to escape, just get your brush and lightly brush.

Brilliant, your help and advice is much appreciated. Many thanks! The good news is I took the radiator off the wall so runs should be to a minimum. There's a job for tomorrow along with the rest of the room.

    Thanks again :)

same here I have used satinwood as well
only used radiator paint once got as far
as doing one radiator what a nightmare
    dribbles everywhere spent more time
running a brush over it to smooth it out
and it seemed to take an age to dry.
