which wood type do people recommend for kitchen worktop?
Hi Looking to fit new wooden kitchen work top and was wondering what the pros and cons were of each type of wood? Ikea have birch, beech and oak and I see B&Q also have maple. My kitchen floor is also maple (cupboard doors are painted ivory) . Any suggestions/recommendations/warnings ? Thanks C

toilet problem
Our toilet for some reason has blocked? we have bought a toilet snake thing that you push thru to try and unblock but has not worked we have also bought special stuff you pour down sink ,but still nothing. when you run the tap the toilet then bubbles ? can any one help to unblock toilet please.

i am looking to buy a lot of white emulsion. Have bought the cheap stuff before, but feel that i just paint over it a lot!, Need a few big 10l tubs of the dulux stuff, does anyone know if it is on special anywhere or cheap??:j

How do I earth something?
I bought an air con unit at the end of last year, one that goes through the wall. It plugs into a normal socket inside. My ex oh fitted it, I've just read the instructions and it says it should be "earthed" Do I need an electrician or is this something I could do myself?

i think ive ruined my brand new laminate flooring :-(
i spilt a little water on my brand new week old laminate flooring, i didnt notice for about 20 mins and when i wiped it up it has started to expand on the join, will it dry flat, or have i ruined it?! is there anything i can do to save it, or shall i wait for it to completely dry naturally? help!
