Please Help How do i seal a Bath

Ok Mind seem logical but im a female so i need some help here.

Usually my dad would do all this sort of thing but he passed away in March so im having to come here and ask so please be gentle.

In my bathroom i have plastic cladding all fitted round my bathroom now this cladding is fitted just beneth the height of my bath on the bath side..

i have my bath which streches the whole length of the bathroom on the wall i have a shower, now the shower was leaking down the side of the plastic cladding where my bath joins. Coming through my Kitchen Ceiling i know its definatley from there because my dad as already replaced it once.

i have took the old stripping of and got some new now how do i fit it

So how do i Seal the bath and the cladding so its totally waterproof.

I hope ive tried to explain myself ok.

All help would be gladly welcomed.

You will need to silicone between the gap.

Yes you are right you should have filled the bath 3/4 full and then used the silicone let it dry then let the water out.

Yes always best to fill the bath with water first as the will be a slight movement if you have a plastic bath.
Plus it will depend on the size of the gap you have, if above 7mm i would advise to put a piece of plastic trim around the bath, then silicone.
