E-on going Backwards caused by their fixation on Next
This is a vent more than anything else. Working from home the E-on chat system has been brilliant at getting things sorted, sadly no more. Their fixation on the switch to E-on Next is taking them backwards. I used to be able to organise replacement keys for pre-pay meters and get the debts cleared all on line, which meant…

Tariff increases, an example
Our fixed-rate deal was £159/month and ended Monday. Since December we've checked what we could fix at, each month we're offered 4 deals, this is the best each month: December we were offered £307/month January we were offered £429/month Today it's £604/month (all with Scottish Power) So no option now but to default to the…

EDF deal ends on 31.03.22 Advice please
Hi. My (no exit fees) EDF dual fuel deal ends on 31.03.22. I have had an email from them with their Standard Variable Rate from 01.04.22. It's close to double my existing deal. I'm wondering about giving notice to end my deal before 31.03.22 and taking up their current SVR rate before 01.04.22. Would this be likely to…

Bulb - do I stay?
I'm confused by all the information on whether to stay with my current energy provider or look for a cheaper deal (if there is one, I just don't know!) I've been with Bulb for 3 years now and following Martin's advice I stayed put when they went bust but with the price cap increase on the 1st April I don't know what to do!…

EON v11 or Octopus Go
Hi all, Firstly, I'd like to thank all the amazing people on here who help each other. I have been an avid reader and they've often solved my problems without me needing to post. I recently purchased an EV car. (It's yet to arrive) When I saw EON's v11 tariff, I signed up almost immediately. After reading some more, I saw…

Octopus Energy Hike in bills.
Hi. I was an Avro customer that was transferred to Octopus when Avro closed. I was paying around £120 per month most of last year. 2 bedroom house, 2 adults. Usual household items plugged in. I recently submitted meter readings, having not done so for a couple of months, maybe 3. I am now showing as almost £900 in debt…

Warm home discount and moving house
Hope this is ok to post here. I’ve just received an e mail from Boost saying I have been awarded the £140 warm homes discount. It is due to be credited in April. I am on prepayment meter. However I am due to move house in 3 weeks time ( to a house with a pre payment meter with eon next) can I transfer the discount or will…

British Gas SOLR transfer period Standing Charge
I got my first Bill from BG after moving from PFP energy in late November. And that covered from the 4th October. Shortly afterwards on the 3rd December there were extra charges shown as Miscellaneous document of £5.51 & £5.97. These I gather are standing charges to cover the changeover. Today I got my latest bill covering…

MSE News: Prepay for your energy? You could keep today's cheaper rates for a little longer
Many with older prepayment meters could potentially delay the upcoming price hikes and keep the cheaper rates under the current price cap for a little longer. It's all about 'stockpiling' gas and electricity credit before the rates rise. Read the full story here: 'Prepay for your energy? You could keep today's cheaper…

Eon Next not taken Direct Debit
Has anyone on Eon next noticed if their direct debit has been taken today as normal? I’ve just noticed mine hasn’t been taken and isn’t showing in my pending either. Can’t get through to them on phone probably due to their rapidly withdrawn new fix. My account moved over from Eon energy to Eon next (I can’t actually work…

Igloo Energy to EON Next Price Crazy! Any help
Hi, I used to be with Igloo Energy and got moved to EON Next and I can't get my head around why it's so expensive before the new cap was announced and it's even worse now. I used to pay about £150 a month for both with Igloo, then it went up to £300 plus and now over £400. Is it worth trying to find a better deal even…

Entered day and night meter readings the wrong way round
Hi all, I have been with Bulb for a year and a half and I've just come to the realisation that I have been entering the day/ night meter readings the wrong way round. My meter states two readings, labelled '1' and '2', however the meter does not specify which corresponds with day, and which corresponds with night. My…

Now, what is important to know is that I'm a saavy person and careful of my money. Since I had a Economy 10 meter I always followed the night tarif for my programed heating…

British gas billing frequency
I Switched to British gas on the 4th of August last year. I have submitted a meter reading on 1st of the month since. I received bills on 1st September, 1st December, 2nd January and 1st March. In October, November and February, I received messages that they didn't require a meter reading, and would inform me when rhey…

Fixed rate ending
Sorry I did out this on another forum by accident. Our fixed rate is coming to an end on 31st March 22 and the deal with Scottish Power (who were with) goes up by £250. I have seen a deal with Octopus (100 more than now) but they say on their website to stay where we are due to price cap in April. I'm confused in what to…

Previous occupier's energy bill & standing charges
Hello, I have recently moved to a new rental & EDF was the energy supplier. I did not want to sign up with EDF but called them to advise them anyway as I remembered a letter from them that the landlady took away. It was my understanding that a new tenant has to get in touch with the current energy provider of the property…
