Missing 2.83 in gas bill
Hi This is my gas calculation from my bill for how much they charge me but I do not seem to have the 2.83 which is making my gas bill lower than other people I know. I have used 100 units as an example 100 GAS UNITS USED X CALORIFIC VALUE (39.5) X VOLUME CORRECTION (1.02264) ÷ 3.6 = 1122 kWh This is the calculation for…

How to contact Bristol Energy?
Hi, I was just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction, please? I was a Bristol Energy customer and moved 3/2/22 to British Gas. I gave both suppliers a reading on that date. On 26/2/22, I received an email from Bristol Energy asking for an up to date read in the next 5 days or they would estimate my energy…

OVO Energy - standing daily charge
Can others check their energy suppliers predicted energy charges as OVO Energy is planning on more than double the “Daily Standing Charge” the Gas is increasing to 28p per KWH and electricity is increasing to 29p per KWH - why is OVO increasing an operating cost which will NEVER decrease as shareholders would lose…

50/50 decision on switching
I pay £60 a month DD at the moment This will increase by 54% on the standard rate to £92.40. If rates go up by at least 20% in October, I will then pay £110.88 a month. (A dusgusting sum of money for a 1 bed flat!) I am being offered a DD of £105.89 a month fixed for 12 months, with the following rates: ElectricityDaily…

231% energy price increase with new supplier
I live in a flat, there are 39 flats in total. Our original gas supplier went bust and our Management Agent has written to all of us advising the domestic energy price cap doesn't apply, so our gas rates are increasing 231% (not 54% like everyone else) with the new supplier. Does anyone know if what they are saying about…

EDF Electricity price - why the increase?
All the tariff information from EDF says the electricity is 100% nuclear. If it is 100% nuclear, why is the price increasing by so much? Surely the wholesale price of gas has negligible (if any) affect on the cost of generating nuclear electricity. The only reason I can think of for the increase is "because they can".

New supplier for gas/electric - just moved!
We’ve just (yesterday) moved into the flat we’re renting and needing to get the gas/electric sorted - the previous tenants didn’t leave any details, so would just like to start fresh and keep our usage/bills completely separate to theirs etc. With everything going on just now, what should we be looking out for when…

Unit Price Vs Standing Charge April 22 Energy Price Increase
I have just received my update from British Gas for April price increase, however they seem to be increasing both the unit price (which is what I thought was linked to the wholesale prices), but also have increased the daily standing charge, which I suspect will not reduce if wholesales prices ever go back down, this seems…

EON massively overestimating my energy usage.
EON sent me a bill for an estimate of over 100kwh more than what I actually use. I've sent them the actual reading and got an error message saying "that looks a little low, are you sure?" I put yes and submitted it, but should I be worried that they're gonna overcharge me?

How long will the EON V12 fixed tariff be available?
My fixed rate with Eon ends 12/3, should I switch to the V12 fixed rate then or wait until 1st April? Bearing in mind they have closed the V11 1 year fix so quickly do we think the V12 fix offer will also close pretty quickly, and well before 1st April?

Energy supplier recommendation? (British Gas customer here)
Hi. Does anyone recommend the best(cheap) energy supplier? I am a British Gas customer for the last 10yrs and I am paying £38 PM. As all we have under the same situation, this price will increase to around £54 I guess. Is it worth it that I switch to another supplier and get a better price? or just leave it as all other…

High Energy usage
Hi, I've recently moved in with my OH and noticed that he is paying a lot on his bills and just assumed he was being wasteful with electricity but since I've been here a few months now I can see its not the case. We are using somehwere between 4kwh and 6kwh just overnight between midnight and around 8am. There is nothing…

Credit Balances
I have been trying to find out if I will ever get my money back... I was with Bristol Energy. They had a credit balance of circa £600. I moved from Bristol Energy to Bulb in September. Transfer was smooth. I was told the credit balance from Bristol Energy would be credited to my account once the final bill was raised. The…

Moving, should I switch?
Hi, I have an empty flat that I’m moving back into. The energy supplier there is eon. It’s currently on Next Flex. I’m so confused by which deal is best and whether I should change deal or not. According to Eon their cheapest tariff is to stay on Next Flex, this has rates as follows: Elec unit 29.8, standing 54.12 Gas unit…

Electric Standing charge doubling
Can anyone explain why British Gas are raising their daily standing charge from 24.038p per day to 47.282 p per day when the cap is raised. What gas the SC got to do with the rise in wholesale price increases.

Eon state "You will receive a discount if you pay by Direct Debit."
Eon state "You will receive a discount if you pay by Direct Debit." While looking at tariff options, it states "You will receive a discount if you pay by Direct Debit." but doesn't give any details. Does anyone know what the discounts are, or if they even exist? They give you the actual tariff rates for my accounts (all…

Bust supplier? How much more will you pay yearly from April?
I'm interested to know how much more people will paying from April if they are in the situation where both their gas and electric suppliers went bust. I have worked out that my annual energy usage will cost me £1100 per year more compared to the tarriffs I was on before my gas and electric supplier went bust (based on…

Removal of Electricity Power Supply Cable and Smart Meter
Historically my property had two electricity power feeds and consequently two meters. For decades we toyed with consolidating these and potential savings on ever increasing standing charges. All our meters are supposedly smart (although our GAS meter has never been commissioned by Bulb in its 2+ years of existence!) One…
