Should I have fixed

Hi, I’m so confused by all this, I don’t understand per centages etc, I wasn’t good at maths. My electric is 19.61 kWh on variable and 3.854 for gas, and I can fix at 30.55 for electric and 8.474 for gas.
I switched cos I panicked , should I have, I’m still in the cooling off period so I can cancel

The SVT (standard variable tariff) from April 1st is cheaper than that, unit price, although you haven't said what the daily charges are, which may make a difference if you are a low user.

Trouble is, none of us have a crystal ball, so there's no knowing what the SVT will be set at in October. It's one of those questions where there isn't reall a right answer. It depends on whether you value predictability over price, fundamentally.

There are far worse fixes out there than that one - the unit rates there appear to be only a little higher than the April cap.

What Fixed tariff is it you've gone for, and can you let us have the standing charges, and your annual usage figures as well? When does the cooling off period end, and is there an exit fee?

Don't panic and cancel the switch until you have more information, would be my suggestion.
