I'm interested to know how much more people will paying from April if they are in the situation where both their gas and electric suppliers went bust.
I have worked out that my annual energy usage will cost me £1100 per year more compared to the tarriffs I was on before my gas and electric supplier went bust (based on annual usage and previous bust supplier rates and April 1st SVR rates with the SOLR).
It's eyewateringly scary amounts....
I suppose this applies to those coming off a fixed rate with a non-failed supplier too, perhaps.
I'm not interested in your monthly DD amounts, I like details

@Verdigris that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking peoples actual annual increases based on their own usage compared to what they paid before with their bust supplier. Not some average user jargon.

Our current fix (which expires mid-April) amounts to annual cost of £780
Under the April cap, I've calculated that this will increase to £1,680, based on the same usage estimates (which are monitored and have been consistent over the years)
I've been following the energy "story" since about August last year, so none of this is a surprise.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)1 -
Not some average user jargon. But it has the unit rates and daily charges, from which you can work out what you'd be paying, for your particular consumption, at the SVT cap. You can also comapare that to any fixed deals you see (hint; they'll all be more expensive).

I know how to calculate everything, don't need help with that thank you. I'm very aware of the situation. I'm just asking out of interest how much more people will pay on their own circumstances if they had cheap deals. Prizes for most saved and most lost?0 -
I'll leave you to it.
