I currently have a gas only supply with EDF on the so called capped variable rate. My current unit price is 4.053p and is going up on 1 April to 7.319p which is a 80% increase.

Does this seem correct....all the publicity about the increase has siad 51-54%.

Anyone else seen such increases.

Yes, sadly it's correct. 54% is for a typical dual-fuel customer; gas is going up by around 80% and electricity by about 35%.
There's a discussion of the cap and a table of capped rates at the link in my signature.
