Fourth Anniversary
I'm confused by all the information on whether to stay with my current energy provider or look for a cheaper deal (if there is one, I just don't know!) I've been with Bulb for 3 years now and following Martin's advice I stayed put when they went bust but with the price cap increase on the 1st April I don't know what to do! Can anyone help?

You can look, but I don't think you'll find anywhere to switch to that's significantly cheaper than Bulb.

If you find anything cheaper than Bulb who are charging the cap, then let us all know please.

Are you signed up to the free MSE Cheap Energy Club? It's a useful tool to keep an eye on what deals are out there (although the advice would always be to maintain control of switching etc yourself - don't take it's option to sign up for auto-switching). I agree with the others though - right now it really is unlikely that you'll find a fix worth having.

  • I am in a smimilar situation.

At present, given up trying to find a cheaper alternative.

All seem more expensieve than the bulb variable rate.

"We're increasing our electricity unit rate from 20.763p to 29.632p per kWh and electricity standing charge from 23.296p to 32.141p per day.

We're increasing our gas unit rate from 4.186p to 7.517p per kWh and standing charge from 26.112p to 27.219p per day.

These prices all include VAT at 5%."
