Dual fuel price hike
Hi. Around 4 months ago I changed my G&E tariff to what seemed a lot better for me, changed to direct debit payments etc and upon the company (EDF) receiving my latest meter readings what started off as a manageable monthly payment, they have increased my payments 3 fold. How do these companies work out what you can be…

He then received a text message from number 07378905407 asking for various personal details like name, address, email DOB etc, so they can help, can anyone confirm this is a…

Red Triangle on IHD
My BG smart meter IHD beeped then went blank then rebooted and since then it does not show gas usage and has a red triangle next to the blank flame and the gas meter reading is not increasing. The electricity part of the IHD is working OK. Does that mean I am getting free gas? :)

British Gas - Help!
Hello, I’m hoping someone can help or advise me. I’ve been a loyal customer of British Gas for 17 yrs (fool!) and had my electricity meter read in March 2020 - I was £70 in credit. I had my meter read again in September 2020 and was sent a bill for a staggering £2,000!! I’ve contacted their hideous customer service and got…

Moving home, new deal.
Hi, I will be moving home and want to change energy suppliers. Is there any way I can make use of the good deals on the ML switching site? Is this only for switching deals as opposed to moving home? Thanks for any advice.

Solar Power Battery Backup
Greetings to all About 10 years ago I followed Moneysaver advice, and had PV (electric) generation panels installed. They have paid for themselves. Currently, Eastern county councils are combining bids for the installation of battery backup, to increase the usage of any power I generate. On the face of it this looks to be…

Scottish Power / Can I switch?
Hi all, Hope someone can give some advice. I moved into a rental property in January owned by a friend (who'd literally just bought it). I did the usual, signed up for council tax, water rates etc but for some reason I managed to miss the Electric bill (I was told at the time that it was with E-on which the previous owner…

Should I switch to Economy 7?
Hi After extensive research into updating my E10 electric warm air system, it looks like Dimplex Quantum NSH’s on Economy 7 would be the cheapest to run for electric heating. Possibly similar to the warm air system. Property is 3 bed semi detached so would use electric radiators for bedrooms. Just wondering as the heaters…

Boiler cover/servicing experience with EDF - not good
I signed up this time last year with EDF energy for 12 months boiler cover plus a free service, at about £8/month. I was keen to get it serviced ASAP as I didn't know when it had last been serviced, but they fobbed me off every month last winter saying they were too busy, and then of course Covid arrived in March, so a…

Tonik - Late Billing
I switched from Tonik at the end of my contract with them in January 2020. Meter readings were provided and the final bill paid. Imagine my disbelief when a bill came in last week - end of September - some 8 months later, out of the blue, for £260. No explanation. When I look online it adds up electricity and gas paid over…

SMETS2 meter switch query ?
I have moved from OVO Energy to E.ON a few days ago and couldn't believe it when E.ON said that the 2 SMETS2 meters that OVO fitted in July 2019 are not compatible with E.ONs systems without a software update. I thought that all SMETS2 meters would allow customers to switch energy companies without the meters going dumb?
