SMETS2 meter switch query ?
I have moved from OVO Energy to E.ON a few days ago and couldn't believe it when E.ON said that the 2 SMETS2 meters that OVO fitted in July 2019 are not compatible with E.ONs systems without a software update.
I thought that all SMETS2 meters would allow customers to switch energy companies without the meters going dumb?

That doesn't make sense as the suppliers don't connect directly to the SMETS2 meters, they have to use the DCC.There is at least one firmware update needed for some of the L+G meters to fix a data retrieval bug, but even that only affects requests for more than 48 hours data at a time and doesn't interfere with normal daily data collection.Which meters do you have?0

Did your SMETS2 meter ever start working with EON?
I have had exactly the same problem since April (2021), but all I am told is to "wait for the software update".
Waiting a few days/weeks did not seem wholly unreasonable, but I've now been waiting for 6-months and still get the same answer from their customer support.

A new supplier does need to download their security certificates to your SMETS2 meter when they gain you as a customer, but that is about it, and that should take no more then a few days at most...

I transferred from Ovo last October and I'm still waiting for an upgrade. I've been told they have to wait for a 3rd party to do the upgrade. Nothing they can do. Does anyone know if this is correct?0

Does anyone know if this is correct?If you have a SMETS1 meter then they may be talking about waiting to get the meter adopted by the DCC.If it is SMETS2 then the trigger comes from them as they have to send the certificates via the DCC to the meter.0

Firmware version 15101417 which is the one I believe works.
