New electric connection - smart meter mandatory?
Comments

Why would you not want a smart meter? As long as it's a 2nd Gen SMETS2 meter it's fine, and I'm pretty sure the 1st Gen SMETS1 meters aren't being rolled out any more.1

Would you accept a smart meter as long as it came with a complimentary tin hat?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Hi,just ignore the smart part and treat it as a normal meter, read at least once a month and supply readings to your provider.Don't bother with the IHD, they usually end up in a drawer after novelty has worn off anyway.1

How about smart phones that are squirting the same sort of energy that a smart meter does but is usually situated either in your pocket or close to your head. I guess your wifi router is also doing the same.
It appears that you have the option of having a leccy connection with a smart meter or no leccy at all - your choice reallyNever under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
Hi,and suppose you don't sit in front of a smart telly for hours on end, though if you've no leccy that won't be a problem.2

More to the point, why only the big six?.0

Because all the other providers are in the pay of Huawei and will inject you with thought-control microchips which can then control you through the smart meter. Or something similar. Which is when the tin hat comes in useful.
No free lunch, and no free laptop1
