British Gas "Annual" Boiler Service
I have a British Gas HomeCare "Annual" service
contract. "Annual" in quotes because in practice it's just about
impossible to get an annual service: in reality it’s a service every 14 months.
Is this other people’s experience? You can’t access the BG booking system until a year after
your previous service and then the…

Solar Panel feedback tarrif
Hi. Coop Energy are pulling out of arranging our Feedback tarrif. We were switched to Octopus a few months ago as gas/electric suppliers, with Coop continuing to be reponsible for our tarrif. We are not sure how , or with whom, to arrange the tarrif payments now Coop is closing that too. What would you do?

Gas / Elect daily use calculator
Hopefully someone can help. When I was with Scottish power, I could input as many daily readings as I wanted and it would show me what my daily usage was for 2 rates of elect and also gas, which i thought was useful. Sadly since moving to EDF via bulb and having smart meters I dont have the useful info (ihd doesnt work…

How can I find out a past meter reading held by the metering agency?
My electricity supply was switched from Iresa to Enstroga on 27/7/2018. I need to find out the reading that the independent electricity metering company holds for this switch date. A brief history...I had been with Iresa for electricity and SSE for gas. Switches to Enstroga dual fuel went through dated 27/7/2018. Meter…

Can't get a gas supplier to register our supply
This sounds insane. For years my parents had gas but no Bill's. They tried hard to get billed. No supplier would register them because the meter was unregistered. They wrote to the installers and tried everything. British has told them there is no such meter and no supply at the address. They kept all the correspondence…

How soon can i leave british gas after meter change?
Hi first post on here so hopefully it's in the right place! When we moved into this house the gas was on direct debit but the electricity was on a pre pay meter both with British gas, after a year I decided to get it changed so both were on direct debit. But as far as I could find out it needed to be British gas that…

Hi I live in a flat with storage heaters and have a Comfort Plus White meter (so I have 3 readings for my electricity - day, night and control (heaters)). GLIDE asking me to pay an outstanding bill
I bought a tenanted house in November 2016. The tenants living there used the company 'Glide' to pay their bills. My letting agent advised me to tell the tenants to end using Glide and put the utilities in my name so I could pay them going forward (utilities paid as part of tenants rent). I contacted the Utilities provider…

Calculation of gas consumption
I provide my gas readings in ft3 which in turn give my gas consumption in ft 3. This is then converted by default into kWh's, by means of the gas conversion factor, which is the basis for my bill. I believe that in my case the factor is around 3.47. Central within this is the figure for the calorific value of the gas which…

Why did I move back to British Gas?
I recently moved back to British Gas using the MSE Cheap Energy Club. I'm already regretting my decision. As I've posted elsewhere, I received an email from BG telling me my smart meters were incompatible with their systems. This is despite the fact the smart meters were installed by BG! I went onto the BG chat to report…

Late payments not recorded on credit fil
Hi, just wondering if I could possibly have some advice, I had an Npower account in 2017 until I moved out in 2018 and did give my forwarding address as I would have to pay the remaining bill. Unfortunately after just moving to new address my son became seriously ill for a few months before he was admitted to hospital, he…

Tariffs for Electric Vehicles (EV)
I have 2 issues 1. The MSE energy club does not seem to support the selection of EV tariffs in its filters (I hope this will change soon) 2. I have a type 1 smart meter that most companies can't read. I cannot get a good EV tariff without a smart meter. Companies will not change a working type 1 to type 2 OR if they will…

E energy supply to Scottish Power
Hello, I recently moved into a new property and the energy and gas is supplied by E with a pre-paid meter. I would like to pay by Direct Debit but E does not offer that service. Therefore I decided to switch to Scottish Power, now they said Gas can go trough fine but the electric meter cannot. This is because on the…

Eco7 reduce Eco Fix 1.0 price further £10 when switching away
Here's a tip...This morning Eco7 sent me a text offering an internal switch to their Eco Fix 1.0 tariff at a reduced price if I signed up immediately to stop the switch from going through. Might be worth Eco7 customers trying to switch away for a reduced price. I like to switch away every now and then. It helps to keep…

BES Utilities - anyone else had problems with this cheating, unprofessional business
I have a business account with BES utilities, this is a 4 year fixed, but BES broke the contract by putting me onto a different tariff. I pointed this out to them and the sent me a recording of my conversation agreeing to the 4 year fixed tariff. After many phone calls and several weeks they agreed to rework the invoices…

No standing charge gas supplier
Does anyone know of any supplier who does not charge standing charge or minimum charge for gas in the Middlesex area. I am with Ebico but they now have scrapped their zero standing charge and have now introduced a minimum charge, I believe around £15 a month. I use virtually no gas so I am paying around £180 a year for…
